Never interfere with the delicate ecosystem of your cabling, one false move and you can upset the complex relationships between the organised and logically constructed, subtle and intricate balance that has developed via an organic process of entanglement.
I moved house at the weekend. I disconnected all the outputs from my tech. I disconnected the other ends from their associated tech. I picked up the whole cable jungle (which helpfully came up in one semi-solid mass) and deposited it in a box. An ML110 server box. It filled the box. At the other end, I lifted it out of the box and deposited it behind the tv. I plugged all the ends in.
It all works perfectly. Not only that, but I saved many hours of futile untangling. These things get in a mess. It’s What They Do. IT’S ALL THEY DO.
I swear they breed. I had to delve down there again today to add another cable to fix the Wii VC game display problem I’d been having, and lo - there were two more sets of phono-tipped cables not plugged in at either end. Where did they come from?

The noise my sub made when I moved everything was one of severe malcontent.
