bargains, games 2 Comments »

Play Asia have a PAL-playable, English language, Asian 360 version of Grand Theft Auto IV in stock for just under £33. OK, so it isn’t a huge bargain, but it’s the cheapest price I can find at the moment.

Bargainous Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice

bargains, games No Comments »

The “new Phoenix Wright game”, Apollo Justice, is due out for Western DS gamers on the 12th February. Unlike the previous three titles, the Japanese version didn’t have an English language option, so those of us gagging for more courtroom “action” have had to wait.

But the wait is nearly over! And, so sweeten the deal a bit, Play Asia have it up for pre-order for the bargain price of just £16!

Take That!

Bargainlicious Bioshock

It would seem that Bioshock for the Xbox 360 has been confirmed as region free by one of the programmers over on the 2K Games forums. This means you get get hold of the Asian version (which is in English) for just under £25.

Where from? Play Asia of course!

While you’re there, why not pick up Phoenix Wright 3 for the DS for £15 too? That’s what I did!

Super bargain power!

A while ago, I found out about the HTC Athena (eventually sold as the HTC Advantage). It’s a large PDA with a mini-laptop air about it. There was no way I was going to buy one, as they were £750 or something.

But now, I’ve seen the Asus EeePC.

It’s a thing of wonder and beauty. Yes, it’s a little larger than the HTC, and no, it’s not a phone as well. But it is a lovely 7″-screened, DS Lite-alike mini-laptop. It’ll even run proper grown-up Windows (although it comes with Linux). Built in webcam, wireless capability, and a choice of flash-based “hard drives”. 512MB RAM, Bluetooth, VGA out… the works. And it’s just 22×16cm.

The best bit, though, and surprisingly, is the price: just US$199.

Let me say that again. You get this amazing, stylish, well-spec’d box of gorgeousness for just US$199. That’s a little over £100.

I think I’ll buy three.

See Asus‘ presentation here.

It’s back in stock at Play Asia, at the lovely price of £23 (ish). It’s the Asian version, but it is all in English and has been confirmed working on PAL consoles.
