Worked my way through most of (well, a lot of – I think I’m almost there) Act III on this today. I have about half of the mountains unlocked now. The story is nuts. The cutscenes were obviously created when on drugs. The challenges are bizarre. I love this game.
Ripped through a few more levels today, reaching level 14 (which I’ve now found out is the final level). None of them seemed that difficult, although Level 11 was completed with just seconds to spare. Level 14 is a nightmare, however. Not a great deal to do in Cheese today. Did the usual bits, weeding, fossil digging, as-yet-unbought-item buying, and talked to my animals. Frobert didn’t move out, although I sort of wish he had, really. However, Bluebear was trying to leave today. I tried to convince her to stay, as she hasn’t given me her picture yet. She’s a selfish cow (uh, or bear) though, as I’ve given her all that stuff and she’s clearly not returning the favour. So …
Completed levels 9 and 10 this evening, without any problems. Yeah, so I’m only get Bronze times, but it’s waaaay to hard to go for golds. Besides, apparently theres a bug in the game making it impossible to get all of the golds (and therefore all of the game’s achievements), so it’s not worth trying.
Rubbish. SomethingWitty has beaten my score, and now sits at 19870 points. I spent a while working through a few more rounds, then decided to take on his score. After about ten attempts, the best I’d managed was 19770 – just 100 points short. That’s just ten more dots. Bah. However, roberthazelby on my friends list has over 70,000, so I took some solice in that.
More Modern Furniture had arrived for me to give to Bluebear today. I wonder if she’ll actually stop asking for it now? I must have gieven her about 5 items, so I expect a picture some time soon… Not a lot else going on in Cheese today. Hurrah for two things! Firstly, I unlocked two more achievements, leaving just three to do. Secondly, and most importantly, I whipped SomethingWitty’s score by many thousand points. I hope he cries like a little girl. Which I imagine he is anyway.
Gosh. Remember this? I played it a while ago. Well, I’ve got back into it. Pushed through on the story a bit, getting onto Act III on a new mountain. Have done some of the challenges and media callouts, and have “found” the yeti. I’ve now started doing some challenges for some woman on a poster. Yes, really. Complete with scary male fairy things. Passed on a Modern Lamp to Bluebear, who went on about me having “kid in a candy store” eyes when I spoke to her. The minx. Also wrong was the conversation I had with Sally, which I won’t repeat. Just a quick play today to make sure none of my animals were trying to move out or anything. They weren’t. Dug up quite a few fossils today, and bought some furniture and clothes I hadn’t seen before too. Bluebear asked for more Modern Furniture, but I didn’t have any so had to order some. She’d best bloody take it this time, as last time she told me she’d stopped collecting it! Kill.
Aces. I managed to complete Level 7 easily this time (well, I had about 15 seconds remaining, but still…), and then went on and completed Level 8 first attempt, without any real problems. That unlocked me an achievement, meaning I’ve managed about 100 gamerpoints today. Excelcior!
Played several more online Ranked matches today, mainly playing as Ken, but (sadly) also mostly lost them. Pah. E. Honda players who just hammer the punch buttons annoy me. That’s not playing, that’s just retarded. Anyway, I have now won/played 17/42 matches, which is better than many of the people I’ve seen online so far. I need 30 wins for an achievement, and 50 games played for another one.
Pac-Man was new on the XBLA downloads today, so I bought it and played it. Yes, it’s just Pac-Man and is exactly the same Pac-Man as it was several decades ago, but still. I managed to rack up some 85 gamerpoints by unlocking achievements, but my score is crap – still under 10,000 points. Someone on my friends list is at about 58,000 at the moment. Bah.
Just the one go whilst I waited for Pac-Man to download. I managed a really good run, though, getting up to about level 8 or 9, and earning a score just shy of 60,000 points. OK, so it isn’t a fantastic score by any means, but it’s waaaay better than my previous 28,000-ish.
For the last few days I’ve been working on this, using Inform 7. It’s crap, it’s unfinished, and there are probably still plenty of bugs, but it’s mine! Huzzah. Have a play below, and see it update each time I update it.
