City Link are Crap

City Link are Crap

City Link is a well known courier company. Infamous, in fact, mainly because of how crap they are.

I order a fair amount of stuff over the internet, and have yet to deal with a courier company who isn’t crap, but of all of them City Link stands proud as the Worst of the Worst. I won’t go into the problems I’ve had with them in the past, but will say that I’ve had things incorrectly delivered, lost, broken, and even been denied access to my own stuff because it’s the wrong time of day.

Sadly, eBuyer use City Link for deliveries, and so I have to endure them. Today, some computer parts have arrived in a smashed up box. Sigh.

  1. We are an established City Link customer of many years. We spend thousands of pounds a year with regular daily service. We recently complained about a delivery to their head office and City Link Southampton doubled our rates the next day. We now would not use them as they have priced themselves out of the market. We did contact head office about what appeared to be retaliation and they responded by saying they have no control over the branches. Even though they have taken the branches back from the franchise system they cannot control the branch managers or pricing. The branch managers can use pricing to get rid of any customer they don’t want to hear complaints from. We only complain so that our customers are provided with the service that they pay for. We can now use Parcel Force anywhere in the UK for a third of the new City Link price. It is no wonder why City Link are going down the pan.

  2. Unfortunately I beleiv that the head office has strung you along as they hav the final say in pricing. The depots will bend over backwards for customers but the £££ per item is always down to head office.
