Tony Hawk’s American Sk8land (GBA)

Tony Hawk’s American Sk8land (GBA)

This is the last GBA Tony Hawk game I have left to play. In fact, it’s the only one left at all. Bah.

Unlike the other Tony Hawk GBA games, this one’s levels (so far) bear little resemblance to the console versions. That isn’t really a bad thing – just a bit odd. In fact, it has at least two levels completely different so far – a school level (with bits similar to the College level in THPS2) and Los Angeles (a bit like the one from THPS3).

Graphically, the game is excellent. Much, much better looking that THUG and THUG2, and almost cel-shaded like the DS game. Sort of. Nearly.

Stats are now earned by completing goals, of which there are loads. There’s more variety than in THUG2 as well, without (so far) silly minigames. I’ve done all of Hollywood, School and much of Los Angeles, although I expect I might need to return to one or more at some point. There was a funny “Leeroy Jenkins” moment in Hollywood too.
