Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 (PS5): COMPLETED!

I’ve been eyeing this up for ages but it never really went cheap enough. Sure, I’m a fan of the series (although THPS3 is the best one), but I couldn’t bring myself to pay more than £20 for it. Then PS+ gave it away as a free rental, finally, so here we are. It’s a remake of the first two THPS games, mostly as I remember them, only in much higher resolution and with some of the music missing because …

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD (360): COMPLETED!

With one character, at least: all cash and goals on all levels GET! That’s not the end though – oh no. There’s never really an end to proper Tony Hawk’s games anyway, but as well as having other skaters to play as, completing the game also unlocks a new game mode: PROjectives. This is a new set of very hard objectives for each level. I’ve done all of them for The Warehouse already though 🙂 Besides doing that, I boosted …

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD (360)

Let me say this: BEST. GAME. EVAAR. It’s a remix of THPS1 and THPS2, with new graphics. Which is instantly awesome. It even retains some of the music from the originals. And it only cost £8-ish. And you know I like Tony Hawk games. Oh yes. It came out last Wednesday, and I’ve played it a LOT since. It’s pretty much perfect. Some people are saying it has framerate issues (it doesn’t), it’s not big enough (it’s plenty big enough …

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 (GC): COMPLETED!

Oh Tony, Tony, Tony. Where did it all go wrong? Why, after the utter perfection that is THPS3 did you let your amazing series of amazing games turn into the shambles that is Ride and Shred? Oh Tony! Why have you forsaken me, your most ardent of skateboard game fans? Me, who has completed every single one of your games, before that sorry pair, so many times on so many platforms. I even completed the original game on the N-Gage! The …

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 (iPhone)

TONY HAWK. He’s the best guy ever! Well, maybe Tom Jones is better. Hmm. But he’s still GREAT, and his games (aside from RIDE, but we’ll just forget that one…) are GREAT. And THPS2 is one of the MOST GREAT games. And now it’s on the iPhone! Amazing!  Surprisingly, it works really well. Controls are great (and I generally hate virtual d-pads and buttons), and pulling off tricks isn’t any harder than I remember from the Dreamcast and PC versions. …

Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam (Wii)

For reasons not entirely well known, I started playing this today. Well, started again. You see, I bought it with my launch Wii, but having only recently – at the time – hammered the “proper” Tony Hawk games (which I love) the different controls and mechanics just put me off. Odd, since they never bothered me in the DS version. Anyway, I’m actually enjoying it. It’s not perfect, but it’s fun and surprisingly controllable. And so it came to pass …

Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam (DS): COMPLETED!

Cripes. I got two new games yesterday, and I’ve completed them both already! So I whipped through the rest of the levels on this, which took a few hours. I’ve not done every challenge for every level (you only need to do 6/9 challenges, and 2/3 medals on each to progress), but I’ve beaten the other team, seen the end sequence, and watched the credits. I then tried to play online, but nobody was around, and then I found Jam …

Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam (DS)

Hurrah for Tony Hawk! I started out this year with a flurry of Hawk activity, completing Tony Hawk games at an alarming rate. Then I ran out. But look! There’s a new one! Sort of! Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam isn’t a proper, “traditional”, Tony Hawk game. I was a bit worried about it, in fact, as it seemed to be an entire game based around the concept of the single “Downhill Jam” level from some of the other games. My …

Tony Hawk’s Project 8 (Demo) (360)

Oh no! I thought I’d kicked the habit after my Tony Hawk-a-thon in the beginning half of the year. This was mainly due to the there not actually being any Tony Hawk games left for me to play (well, besides the awful GBC games which are nothing like the “real” versions, so they don’t count). And now look what was on the Xbox Live Marketplace! So, Project 8 then. The demo is a bit restrictive (in time, area, and goals), …

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 (DC): COMPLETED

That makes two THPS games in two days! Got through the rest of the game without too many difficulties. Finding all five Magic Bums on Venice Beach was a bit of a pain (the fifth one eluded me – it was right where you start the level!), and the final Bull Ring competition was a close thing (I won by just 0.1 points), but aside from those there weren’t many problems. I haven’t 100%ed the whole game, and Philidelphia in …

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 (DC)

Finished off the School II level, getting stuck on trying to find the last bit of cash (which turned out to be right at the start of the level – I just hadn’t seen it. Tch). I’m also sure that I should be able to open the gym up by grinding the Opensezme Rail, but that doesn’t seem to work. Marseilles was next, and was a competition. And very easy it was too, with me getting 96.6 and 98.4 as …

Tony Hawk’s Skateboarding (DC): COMPLETED!

It only took about an hour’s play today, but I managed to complete the game! Hurrah! It was much, much easier than the N-Gage version. This was, in part, due to the controls and visibility being much better on the Dreamcast. However, I’m almost certain some of the score goals were significantly lower, and the competitions were much more forgiving. Anyway, Game Over now!

Tony Hawk’s Skateboarding (DC)

I’ve aborted playing THPS2 for the DC for the time being, since my copy of this (otherwise known as THPS on other platforms) arrived today and it makes sense to play it first. Yeah, I played and completed the N-Gage version earlier this year, but this version is much better. It isn’t on the N-Gage for a start… Anyway. Played and got all of the goals in the Warehouse, and have managed to pick up a couple on the School …
