The problem with these Philips laptops is that they were actually a bit ahead of their time. The HDD is a SATA drive which was very new when th machines were made. Consequently the Windows XP install disk (and from what you say Vista) doesn’t have the drivers, hence this thread about slipstreaming the drivers. I had no success with this and I couldn’t install Windows 7 (which has the necessary drivers) because the bios didn’t support this. Eventually I upgraded to the latest bios for the Twinhead mobo. Then W7 installed ok. I think this is the easiest and least technical solution.
