There’s been a lot of hype about this around the newsgroups and forums I post in, so I was pretty sure E4 was going to be ace.
And it is. Sort of. The thing is, it’s not so much a game – more a test of will, staying power and stamina. The main game mode has a time limit of 3 minutes, which you can extend by collecting power-ups. These power-ups are so common, however, that you can easily time extend indefinitely. Which probably explains my 21,667,000,000,000 score on my first go, putting me 75th in the world. I could have carried on quite easily, but I’d been playing for almost two hours solid as it was and I was getting a little bored so just let the time run out.
Played “Revenge” mode then for a bit. It’s very different, being basically a Geometry Wars sort of shooter. It was fun, and I got to Level 20 before I died.
