These mock-ups of some recent games as they might appear in the 80s and 90s are amazing. And not just amazing – in many cases they’re actual games I’d really want to own. I also like how they’ve been imagined – Bayonetta as a bullet-hell shooter, and Brutal Legend as a point-and-click adventure game. I’d like SNES Pikmin and Super Mario Sprint made first, please! 2009: The Games

I was surprised that, despite having a baby at Christmas last year, I was still able to play games in 2009. It seems babies sleep! Not that I’d have imagined that in our first few days with her at home. More surprising, is that I’ve somehow managed to complete a total of 43 games in the last 12 months. FINALLY. After a billion attempts, culmonating in a couple of hours play (necessary, as from final save to boss is almost an hour), I finished it. Overall, it’s an excellent Pikminy game, with just two annoying bits – a hard boss near the start, and a takes-too-long-to-reach and difficult boss at the end.
