Gadget wantage

Gadget wantage

I’m not really the sort of person who buys stacks of gadgets. I don’t have satnav, I don’t have a fancy digital camera, and it’s only in the last two years I’ve had a mobile phone. Computers, yeah (although I don’t upgrade them every five seconds like I used to), and consoles, of course. But gadgets? Not really my thing.

Until I saw this. It’s a HTC “Athena”, which is now being sold as the T-Mobile Ameo over here in the UK (info from The Register). Since buying my T-Mobile Vario II, I’ve really been getting a kick out of mobile internetting, email “wherever”, and an always-ready camera. The Ameo is all the Vario II is, and more. In fact, it’s almost a laptop in miniature, with a 640×480 screen, 3MP camera, and 8GB hard drive.

OK, so it’s too big to use as a phone all the time, but that doesn’t make it any less, well, needed
