Finished off a few things last week, which paved the way for some other stuff.
Play
Battlefield 4 (PS4)
First up, this. It came to a very quick end, where I had to make a moral decision which took all of three seconds to choose the outcome for. I’m not going to rush straight into Hardline though. I’m shootmans out for a while. That said…
Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair (PS4)
I bought this in the PSN sale and it’s a shootmans. But! I’ve enjoyed previous EDF games a great deal and this is just more of the same. There are new character classes, but I’m sticking with classic Ranger for the moment. It’s been easy so far, although I’m now stuck on a level with Shield Bearers and Hectors, not least because the air force keep killing me even though I’m on their side. Silly. The game is, like previous EDF games, ridiculous and cheesy and B-movie level nonsense, but shooting giant ants and spiders and the biggest robots ever never gets old.
Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse (3DS)
What an incredible platformer. Enjoyed it from start to finish, and it fixes some of the (few) problems I had with the original Shantae. And it’s gorgeous to look at. I completed it this week.
There’s Poop in My Soup (Mac)
A silly, short, arcade game where you poo on people. It was 52p on Steam and worth every penny. I completed it (as in, obtained all the achievements and unlocked everything).
Super Duper Party Pooper (Mac)
A sequel to the above, but eschews the previous format replacing it with a DDR style rhythm game. I’ve not played it a lot, but it’s not as good as Soup. Still, it was only 52p as well.
Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE (Wii U)
It has been a long, long time since I’ve been this hooked on an RPG. Persona 4 Golden was excellent, and I want to get back to it, but there was something a bit complex and a bit urgent about it. TMSFE is a simplified version of the same sort of game (they’re both Shin Megami Tensei spinoffs so that’s not surprising), which removes the overall game time limit, has a Persona melding alternative which is much easier to comprehend, and I’m loving it as a result. I’m about 5 hours in, and have just finished the first chapter.
The Temple of No (Mac)
A short and funny adventure game from the makers of that Dr. Langeskov, The Tiger, and The Terribly Cursed Emerald: A Whirlwind Heist game. I completed it, but then, I think it’s pretty hard not to.
Table Top Racing: World Tour (PS4)
Yeah, a few more races on this. It’s still not great.
Want
Lego Marvel Avengers (PS4) and No Man’s Sky (PS4) again, of course. Also Zelda (NX).
Bin
Being ill. Still. It’s not even funny.
Table Top Racing: World Tour (PS4) which I really should stop playing but can’t for some reason. I just want it finished, I think.
Expense
Three Steam games which were bought with free Steam Credit: There’s Poop in My Soup, Super Duper Party Pooper and Six Sides of the World.
Earth Defense Force 4.1 (PS4): £12.79
