Connecting to Nintendo WFC through a Mac

A while ago, I upgraded all the networking kit in my house. My wireless access point kept freezing, and I was getting some lag on Xbox Live, so I thought I’d replace the lot.¬¨‚Ć In doing so, I also bumped my wireless security up from WEP to WPA – something my old kit didn’t support.

However, my DS only supports WEP or nothing. That meant I wasn’t able to connect to the internet for Nintendo WFC games like Mario Kart DS. Until I realised today that my new iMac has a wireless card in it that I wasn’t making use of…

So, with a bit of digging round on the internet I found how to WEP up my Airport card and share the connection with my DS! Of course, I have to turn Airport on when I want to use the DS online, and then off when I’m finished, but it beats reconfiguring my wireless access point!
