To the woman with the Isuzu 4×4

Dear Woman with an Isuzu 4×4 at Asda tonight,

I noticed you parked your oversized car in the last remaining “family” space. You know, those spaces reserved for people with children, who have to struggle with car seats and pushchairs. Those spaces positioned near the shop doors, so you don’t have to wheel your baby through quite so much cold and rain.

Those spaces in such great demand to people with families, that even on a relatively quiet night there’s not much chance of getting one.

Those spaces clearly marked for this purpose. You know the spaces. The spaces where you parked.

I also noticed that not only did you have no family with you, but upon peering through your windows, I could see no sign you ever would have your family with you – no car seat, no toys, no books, no mess. In addition, judging by your apparent age, the chances of you having a family young enough to require such a space were slim to none.

You, madam, were simply being lazy and selfish, while other families had to make do with more cramped spaces at the other side of the car park. In the rain.

I do hope someone slashed your tyres.

Love,
deKay.

  1. On a recent trip to Tesco we parked in a family space and I stayed in the car with a sleeping child. I counted 4 cars leaving the family spaces with no sign of children and 5 cars arriving with no sign of children. It was very tempting to run up to all the people I saw and tell them “You’ve left your child in the car/the shop!” in a panicked way followed by “Oh, my mistake. You’re just lazy twats”
