Carrying on from yesterday, I present to you the Further Adventures with Mystery Game Purchases, from Green Man Gaming. Starting with my second three-pack (and bonus random game):
Second Three-Pack of Mystery Games
1. The Joylancer: Legendary Motor Knight (Steam Page)
This looks like my sort of thing. It appears to be not dissimilar to Mega Man crossed with Rocket Knight. I won’t play it.
User Reviews: Mostly Positive
Current Steam Price: £2.09 (saving £1.80)
2. Alien: Isolation (Steam Page)
Far too scary for me. I think I’d actually have preferred the terrible recent Aliens game for the potential laughs it’d give, but whatever. I won’t play it.
User Reviews: Overwhelmingly Positive
Current Steam Price: £10.19 (saving £9.90)
3. Chronicles of a Dark Lord: Episode 1 Tides of Fate Complete (Steam Page)
Waaaait a minute. I’ve already had that one! That was a waste then, unless I can trade it with someone for something else. Is that even possible?
Current Steam Price: £0.71 (saving £0.42, except I can’t use it, so it’s -£0.29)
Free bonus game: Mini Metal (Steam Page)
It looks a bit like Micro Machines Military might if it was an arena vehicular combat game. I don’t condone this. I won’t play it.
User Reviews: Mixed
Current Steam Price: £6.99 (saving £6.70)
Well, getting the same game twice was a bit disappointing, but the system had me hooked so, what the hell, here’s another pack of three (four!) which came in at about 44p each (after Quidco, of course). Pleasebegood, pleasebegood…
Third Three-Pack of Mystery Games
1. Air Guardians (Steam Page)
I think this is a dogfighting game with futuristic aeroplanes. One of which looks like a Klingon Bird of Prey. I won’t play it.
User Reviews: Mixed
Current Steam Price: £0.65 (saving £0.21)
2. Gravi (Steam Page)
A not especially good looking platform puzzle game. It reminds me of another game I can’t remember the name of at the moment. I won’t play it.
User Reviews: Mixed
Current Steam Price: £3.99 (saving £3.55)
3. 8-Bit Adventures: The Forgotten Journey Remastered Edition (Steam Page)
Some sort of RPG, with BBC Micro graphics. Looks better than that other RPG from earlier, at least. I won’t play it.
User Reviews: Mixed
Current Steam Price: £2.79 (saving £2.35)
Free bonus game: Freebie (Steam Page)
Nope. No idea. I won’t play it.
User Reviews: Very Positive
Current Steam Price: £0.39 (saving -£0.05)
And there you have it. A load of new games I’ll never play, and some gambling fun to be had in the meantime.
Total amount of money spent: £4.66
Total if bought at current Steam prices: £33.44
“Saving”: £28.78
Bargain! Although 1) I didn’t get to choose any of the games, and 2) I won’t play them.
