Time Pilot (360)

Time Pilot was on the Xbox Live Arcade downloads thingy today. I have played it a bit before (and actually have a copy of it on Konami Arcade Advanced for the GBA), but I don’t remember it being very good, nor me being very good at it. So I bought it anyway (400 points, about £3.40-ish), and it’s great. I think it’s the online leaderboards that make it – just like Pac-Man and Frogger and all the other arcade “classics”. …

Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)

Bluebear and Purrl were having a conversation today. It went much along these lines: Purrl: “You’re not dancing hard enough!”Bluebear: “What? This a dance-off? I’ll win!”Purrl: “Woot! WOOT WOOT!”Bluebear: “Woot! WOOT WOOT!”Purrl: “This is so much fun! It’s like THE BEST THING EVER!!” Scared, I am.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (360)

Hopped back into this for a short while, to kill some more vampire hunters in Skingrad. That was an easy enough task, but the guards caught me and I had to pay a fine for murdering them. Bah. So the Count was pleased with my killing spree, and gave me some information for Trevan back at the Mages Guild. I passed on what he told me, and Traven said he’d have to consult with the Council over what course of …

Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)

Crazy Redd had nothing of interest for me again today. I haven’t had a new painting in months now, I don’t think. I got a letter from Bunnie. She’s moved out. Tch. I’m not really bothered, as I had her picture anyway, but she didn’t show any sign of moving on (unlike Kabuki and Kody who both seem to threaten to go every day or so). In her place is Purrl, who is a cat. I’ve stolen her from my …

Secret of Mana (SNES)

I didn’t really intend to get into this. I’d only set my US SNES up to test it on my new TV, but somehow got drawn into it. I’ve not really played it much before, but I’ve put a couple of hours into it this time so may “go for the win”. You never know. So I’ve started off, killed the giant Mantis Ant, gone to the Water Temple, found a girl in a castle who joined me, went to …

Assorted Xbox Live Arcade Games (360)

Played a few of them, but not for very long each, so I’m listing them all together. Firstly, I played Uno online for a few rounds, and almost won one of the rounds when someone joined and instantly won the entire round with 341 points on a single hand. Gah. Then I played Marble Blast Ultra, which looks especially nice in HD and lets you see a lot more of the play area as a result. Got par times for …

Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)

I’m still playing. I keep thinking I’m bored of it, and yet still play and enjoy it. It’s either genius or crack. I don’t know which. Anyway. Animals were not after anything today. I thought I’d go bug-catching, but couldn’t find a single bug. I also realised that I’d forgotten again that I hadn’t seen Joan and bought turnips. Bah.

Tetris (Famicom)

Aha! I’m not as crap at this. Played for a good 20 minutes or so, and only stopped as I had something else I needed to do instead. Like Pac-Land from earlier, the controls are a bit wonky – down is rotate, and A is drop. Bizarre.

Ai Cho Aniki (PCE)

Best most gay game ever! I don’t really like shooters, and this isn’t really that great an example of the genre, but in the same way that I love playing Parodius because of its amazing levels of sillyness, this is just bizarre to great excellence. Sadly, I’m rubbish at it and so only got as far as level 3.

Bomber Man ’93 (PCE)

Another PCE game to play for a bit. Bomber Man is always great, isn’t it? Well, except that shonky Atomic Bomber Man for the PC. Or Bomber Man: Act Zero. But aside from them, they’re all ACES. And this is ACES too. I finished all of the first world, and then set about the first couple of levels for World B. One thing which this version does, which I don’t recall any other version doing, is it flashes the block …

Pac-Land (PCE)

I’ve just realised – I’ve had this game for ages but haven’t added it to my Games List. How lax of me. Anyway. With a new TV also comes the ability to play NTSC-based consoles, which I haven’t been able to do previously. This, of course, means that I got the PC Engine Duo-R out, and played some games on it. First up, Pac-Land. I loved it in the arcade, and was always disappointed with every home version I’d ever …

Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)

Another day, another visit to Cheese and some chatting with my animals. No-one has moved out, which was a surprise. And no-one is trying to move either, which is even more of a surprise. K.K. Slider played me “Mr. K.K.” when I went to see him, and Tortimer was dishing out more fireworks this evening, as it was another firework display. It’s the last one this year though, he says.

Prey (360): COMPLETED!

Well. The last few levels were somewhat short, and then they had that SuckySuck(TM) bit (where they made me fight all the previous bosses one after another), and there was a bit where I actually had to kill my girlfriend that I has spent the entire game trying to save. Yes. I had to kill her. I didn’t even want to. It was sick. Anyway. The last level was the same boss over and over again (which was just crap), …

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (360)

I haven’t played this in a while, but, again, with HDTV it’s come out of the cupboard for some more play. And it looks amazing. But enough of that. Decided to pursue the Mages Guild questline. This meant finding a cave on the east of the map, where some necromancers have been up to naughtiness, and then locating a mage spy inside. I was helped for all of five seconds by a battlemage, who instantly got killed by a trap. …
