Metroid Prime Pinball
Played to get a high score on the Pirate Frigate level. Managed a pretty feeble 1,400,000-ish. Rubbish. Also played to get the fastest time on the Artifact Temple Thingie Table. And got an equally rubbish 2:22. Pah.

I heard, somewhere, that there was a bit in the game were you could fight the characters from Golden Axe, and fight a giant Sega Megadrive. I looked. And looked. It was a lie.
Played this on Taito Legends this evening, with the intention of completing it. It took me about an hour to work my way through all the levels up until level 4-4 – the Viking ship. Unlike all of the other levels, if you die and need to continue, you don’t respawn near where you pegged it. Instead, you begin again at the start of the level. Rubbish. And, since it is a pretty difficult level, filled with spikes in enclosed …
Another couple of levels out of the way – Ugly Cleopatra (which was bloody hard), and Over the Distance (which was bloody easy – A rank on my first go). Now there are only three songs left on Insane mode. I had a go at Businessman vs Giant Rat, but failed miserably. I suspect these final three will be somewhat difficult. Ho hum.
Another day, another level. I’m certainly not working through them on Insane quite as quickly as I did on the easier modes… This time, it was Purple Afro Election Man, and it was pretty easy up until the beginning of the final section, which just threw me over and over. I think i fluked it on my last attempt. It matters not, however, as it is teh defeat0red!
High score attemptage on the Tallon Overworld table. I racked up 9,800,000, then lost my final ball. However, my Bounty Bonus (possibly involving a coconut-based chocolate snack) bumped it up to over 10,000,000 and I got an extra ball! Phew, eh? Sadly, I then lost that one soon afterwards, but I did end up with about 11,800,000 in the end.
Three more levels complete – Teacher, Ramen Man and Diarrhea Violinist. Ramen Man was actually really easy, and only took about three attempts. the violinist one though, guh. I spent about 45 minutes on that one alone. Anyway, 9 down, 6 to go!
Two more levels done, namely Dodgeball and Potter. Had a go on Teacher, but, well, it’s a bit bloody hard, isn’t it? I’m taking about 10 or more attempts to clear each level so far. I dread to think how difficult Ready Steady Go! is going to be…
Yes, again. I’ve decided to try and finish off Insane mode. I’d already done two of the songs, and have just managed to finish two more – Horse and Horny Secretary. The latter was really difficult, even though I knew the patterns and stuff. I just really struggled with it. Anyway, 4 down, 11 to go. Or something…
Good grief! I only got this yesterday, and already I’ve blitzed through it (as Blue). Erm, hurrah! Probably! It was very good, but also alarmingly short. I’ve already started playing through as Red as some sort of compensation.
So I decided to start again, and this time play through as Blue. Not that it made a huge amount of difference, as it was still pretty hard. Did manage to get all the way up to the final boss, however. Not really sure how that happened. At least, I think he’s the final boss. He looks like him. And he’s hard. Very hard. And I had to re-kill all of the previous bosses again, one after another, before getting …
Cripes. I didn’t expect that. I was merrily playing Multi Mission, and then I realised I had a score of about 3,000,000. Then I realised I had just collected the 12th and final artifact. Then, I was in the Artifact Temple place, and was defeating Meta Ridley, and then I was in the Impact Crater “fighting” Metroid Prime. Just like in, erm, Metroid Prime. And it was ACE. Then I killed it, and thus I winnared. Credits and everything. Of …
Since this GBA game arrived today, it seemed a bit rude not to play it. Started off as Red, and breezed through the Earth and Moon 1 stages. However, then it got a bit hard. Very a bit hard, in fact. I always found the Megadrive original difficult (and, in fact, found most of Treasure’s previous games a bit hard – just look at my previous posts about Astro Boy), but I suspect I’ll stick with this as it is …
Well. I beat the 1,000,000 mark on Multi Mission mode. Managed to get 6 artifacts too (out of 12), but then died. Pah.
I have actually played this game a bit already this week, but today was my first proper go at it. Although the game is SUPARACEBESTEST and all that, word yo, it isn’t that easy. You get two tables to begin with, with more unlockable if you play through “Multi Mission” mode (which is basically a pinballised version of the Metroid Prime story). I have Pirate Frigate and Tallon Overworld available currently. The former is harder to get points on than …
