Serious Sam: Next Encounter (GC)

I have about ten million known good games as-yet unstarted sitting on my shelf. Things like Metroid Prime: Echoes and Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. I even got Fahrenheit cheaply this morning. So what did I decided to pick up and play today? Well, this obviously. Graphically, it’s nothing special. Originality is out the window. The puzzles are few and simple, and there’s nothing much to recommend it. However, there’s lots to shoot and the dialogue is genuinely funny. Best …

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (360)

Started off by asking the Thieves’ Guild bloke for another job, but him saying I needed to nick more stuff and sell it to the guy in Bruma. So I warped there, stole more alembics and retorts and stuff from the Bruma Mage’s Guild and sold them on. For some reason, I didn’t go back to the Waterfront and carry on the Thievery, but instead went returned to the Arena. I seem to have honed my block-then-attack skills somewhat now, …

Tch. There was a huge tower to enter, and more baddies inside – some of which …

Zuma (360)

Worked through Adventure mode a bit more, reaching level 5-5 before losing my last life. At least all of level 4 is done now, I suppose. Played Gauntlet mode then, scoring really poorly. So poorly, in fact, I’m at the bottom of my friend’s list leaderboard for it. Rubbish.

Advance Wars: Dual Strike

A few more missions, and my first DS game crash! Part way through the first Fog of War mission, I attacked an enemy tank, and the bottom screen went black and the game crashed. The music was still playing in the background though. Had to power off and try again. Also had a play on Combat Mode. It’s great – kind of like a cross between Atari’s Combat for the 2600, and Gauntlet. You have one unit at a time …
