Pilotwings Resort (3DS): COMPLETED!

With Diamond unlocked, each Diamond mission starred, and all of Free Flight done, I think I can safely say I’ve completed Pilotwings Resort. In total, I’ve spent 16 or 17 hours on it, and there’s still replay value if I wanted to go and perfect every level. Which I don’t, but thanks for asking. So much for “3 hours long”, eh, Mr Reviewer Man.

Pilotwings Resort (3DS)

So who’da thunk that the “weakest” (according to reviews) of the 4 3DS launch games I bought would turn out to be my most played? Not me, especially since I wasn’t going to buy it and any did due to a voucher that netted me it for under a tenner. Today I finally 3 starred the last few missions, having already completed free flight mode and 2+ starring all the missions. I’d considered 2 stars on each mission and all …

Pilotwings Resort (3DS)

Many people slated this a bit on the run-up to the 3DS launch, saying it was pretty and fun and everything but very short and having just one location was rubbish. Reviews suggested you’d get all of three hours fun out of it, and then want to trade it in. I bought it because I got it for £9.90, which I thought was a fair price to pay for 3 hours of 3DS game. Now, almost 10 hours in, I’m …

Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars (3DS)

I’ve not mentioned this game yet in my diary, but in fact it is my most played 3DS game so far. Which, if anyone can remember how I took to Ghost Recon on the Xbox might surprise you. Thing is, it’s nothing like that. Or any other Ghost Recon game. It is, in fact, a Ghost Recon painted XCom/Laser Squad/Rebelstar followup – a turn-based strategy game not unlike Advance Wars, or, perhaps more closely, Fire Emblem. With guns. And grenades. …

Ridge Racer 3D (3DS)

This actually arrived on Monday, but since I didn’t have a 3DS at the time, all I could do was look at it and lick the box. I have never really been a big fan of Ridge Racer, but I’m finding this fun. The 3D is incredibly good, and really adds to the game, but the graphics are a little disappointing. They don’t bother me, and they’re clearly streets ahead of Ridge Racer DS, but they’re not as impressive as …

Super Street Fighter IV (3DS)

On Thursday, my 3DS arrived. And with it, was Super Street Fighter IV. And it is FANTASTIC. It’s just like the 360 version, only in 3D! And I love it. The controls are great, the graphics are impressive, and I’ve completed it three times – with Ken, Fei Long, and Rufus (who is amazing, by the way) already. I also played it online a few times, winning only one match. I was about to win against a Barcelona Roll-spamming Vega …
