Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise (360)

I not only managed to acquire a cutlass today (to keep out the Ruffians), but I also bought all the remaining Tower of Sour blocks, meaning that (along with my Cunning Wall of Blocking Ability that keeps Pester out) no nasties can enter my garden. Finally, the game can begin properly! So I bred Buzzlegums, so I could get the Master Romancer award for it, but also so I could entice S’morepians into the garden to eat them. I managed …

Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise (360)

Played up to Level 34 today, mostly undisturbed by sours, ruffians and suchlike. Master Romanced custacians and redhotts, and grew loads of new plants and trees. I have loads of money now (over 45,000) so I’m not struggling to buy anything I need any more, and things in the garden have finally calmed down. I just need to get hold of a few more blocks for the Tower of Sour, and a Cutlass, and things should be just fine!

Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise (360)

After yesterday’s rampage, I spent ages getting my garden back together. Looking back, it probably would have been easier to start again from scratch in a new garden, as there was nothing left worth keeping (a few flutterscotches, whirlms and bispottis was about it). With much rebuilding, I finally had a garden full of stuff again. I suppose it’s about time I started concentrating on romancing various species, but with sours coming in every five seconds (not to mention Professor …

Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise (360)

Played up as far as level 21 today. I had loads of stuff in my garden, pinata aplenty, and then two sours came in at once and left a pile of hemlock seeds. Which multiplied faster than I could get rid of them, and soon 90% of my pinata were dead or dying, and I had no money to use to “sell” the weeds, or cure my pinata. Disaster! In the end, I had to dig a river to cut …

Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise (360)

I 100%ed the original Viva Pinata. Every reward, every achievement, every pinata, every plant… everything. It took about 60 hours. The sequel arrived this week. It’s bigger. Yes, bigger than 60 hours. So I made a start. After around two hours play, I was on level 14, having gained no achievements, but filling my garden with loads of different pinata. I’ve had a few from the pinartic, a couple from the desert, and loads of wander-in-ers. But there’s too much …

Viva Pinata Party Animals (360)

I’ve just realised – I’ve not added this to my list of games I own. Hmm. Anyway, me and my wife played one game on this, which I won. It’s the first time I’ve played it on my new 360 Elite (having gotten rid of my old 360 mainly because it wouldn’t play it). After our game, my wife played it alone for a bit. Then it crashed. Now it won’t play any more. What the hell?

Viva Pinata Party Animals (360)

Well, we played it for a bit, at least. Got a couple of competitions done (I won both), but then it crashed. And that was it. It no longer plays at all. I put the disc in, the screen goes black, and the 360 freezes. When I take the disc out, it’s marked. If I clean the marks off and try again, exactly the same thing happens and the disc gets marked again. Gah! I think my 360 is knackered.

Viva Pinata Party Animals (360)

This arrived today, so my wife and I played it a lot this evening. It’s very easy to unlock achievements, isn’t it? I got 200-odd points in the first game! It’s much better than I recall the demo being, but it’s no Mario Party. Still fun though, especially as I won every game. Then it crashed and told me there was no disc in the drive. Pff.

Viva Pinata (360)

Another brief stint on this, as someone else was after my remaining animals. My gardens are somewhat bare now, and even more so after I pimped up a Roario, called him “Keith Chegwin” and sent him off to Nils Tanner. I seem to just have whirlms and mothdrops left now!

Viva Pinata Party Animals (Demo) (360)

Downloaded this demo this morning and had a go. You know, I think the mini-game-tastic Wii has spoilt other mini-game titles somewhat. Just hammering buttons and stuff seems like a step back after the varied events in things like Wario Ware: Smooth Moves, Rayman Raving Rabbids and Mario Party 8. It isn’t bad, but there’s something just not there with it. Oh, and the animals seem to be voiced by sound-alikes rather than the original voice actors, which makes it …

Viva Pinata (360): COMPLETED!

Right, before I start I really should qualify my “completed” status thing for this game. Yeah, so I haven’t done every last thing possible (yet), but I have had every single pinata resident at some point, and – most importantly – I have not gained all 1000 points worth of achievements. That’s 50/50 achievements. All of them. So I can take that as “complete”, seeing as there’s not really another way of completing it, is there? Well, aside from the …

Viva Pinata (360)

And I’m now on Level 90. There really isn’t a whole lot left to do, I don’t think. Master Romanced Lickatoads (which I thought I’d done already, but obviously not), and Macaracoons, and also found all the variants for both species. Apparently, 108 is the maximum level you can get to. I have no idea how I’ll get that far with so little else to do, though.

Viva Pinata (360)

No more levelling up today, but I did Master Romance Cocoadiles and Mothdrops. The Mothdrops were a real pain in the backside, as I couldn’t get two out of their house at any one time without them instantly disappearing back inside. It didn’t help that my Cocoadiles and remaining Chippotamuses kept deciding to choose the tiny bit og land my romance sweets were on as a bed, preventing my Mothdrops from eating them. I very nearly exploded the controller.
