Frogger (360)

I noticed the scoreboards had all been reset recently, so took the opportunity to try to make it to the top of my friends leaderboard. Sadly, I fell short of Robert Hazelby’s feeble 13,840 with a slightly less feeble 13,760. Ish. And I remember my 25k days. Bah.

Frogger (360)

Hmm. It seems that three people are now ahead of me in my Friend’s Leaderboard. I attempted to recify this by improving my score. I managed a better score (about 15300-ish), but am still a little behind the “leaders”. Bah.

Frogger (360)

With Skijumptoes leapfrogging (ha!) some people on the leaderboard, and Mike Mentalist close behind him, I was pressed to increase my lead again. And I did – 14880 points to the second place 12,000-ish. Powaz to me.

Frogger (360)

Improved on my high score even further today, which is just as well as a couple of people on my friends list were inching closer. I’m now at just over 13,000, which should hold off my nearest competitor (SomethingWitty) at 10,000-ish for a while. Had a few more goes online in Coop mode, and the lag was awful again so gave up. Did manage to unlock the Chicken 2 achievement, though, as well as another one for completing Level 4.

Frogger (360)

I managed to get a few more achievements on this today, played online in two-player for a bit (although online mode is horrendously laggy and effectively broken as a result), and rose to the top of my friend’s list leaderboard with just over 10,000 points. I am clearly BESTEST.

Frogger (360)

Yes. I bought it. I don’t really know why, but I did. And it’s ACE. I know it’s only Frogger and everything, but having a leaderboard and achievements (of which I gained three) really makes more of the “get as many points as you can” gameplay.

Let’s Play! Hunchy

In the 80s, whenever a new, popular, game came out twenty million other white rappe…uh games that were the same appeared. Also, back in the 80s, it was quite common for us kids to think the real game was actually a clone of the clone we’d known first. For example, I had a game called Road Toad, which Frogger blatantly copied. It didn’t, of course – Road Toad was the “fake”, but that didn’t matter. See also Orbiter/Defender, Maze Chase/Painter, …

Games played this week

I’ve not had time to update this week, but, unusually, I’ve managed to play a fair amount. Apollo Justice (DS)Still plowing through the second case. I’ve started cross-examining the accused’s girlfriend. I think I know what the story is, and who did it, and why. Hurrah! Animal Crossing (Wii)Same as it ever is, really. Played for about 20 minutes each day, just pottering round Cheese; a bit of fishing, some fossil collecting, weeding, chatting to the other residents, and that …

Assorted Xbox 360 Demos (360)

Caught up a bit tonight with some of the recent demos on the 360’s mrketplace. Frogger 2No. No no no. It’s like a horrible cute reimagining of Frogger, designed by a three year old. It’s horrible. And why on earth are there rotate button? And a bloody UFO?! And! The most irritating music and sound effect combo ever (especially when collecting lots of coins in one go – yes coins: why the hell does a frog need coins?). It’s all …

Time Pilot (360)

Time Pilot was on the Xbox Live Arcade downloads thingy today. I have played it a bit before (and actually have a copy of it on Konami Arcade Advanced for the GBA), but I don’t remember it being very good, nor me being very good at it. So I bought it anyway (400 points, about £3.40-ish), and it’s great. I think it’s the online leaderboards that make it – just like Pac-Man and Frogger and all the other arcade “classics”. …
