So it seems that the lightning staff you have the option of using in order to kill the two minotaurs in the dream is actually usable. I’d been pressing the “cast magic” button, not “wield weapon” button, so it had been just telling me I was silenced. With this in mind, I jumped up onto a platform where I couldn’t be hit, and killed the two beasties without much of a problem. After that, I was back out of the …
Did pretty well today, getting in the Top 3 for most of the tests. Messed up Head Count though – sometimes it is difficult to tell if it’s 4 entering the house, or 5. Or 6. Anyway. My Brain Age was 21 (even though I topped two of the scores again), so I’m still not sure what’s going on. Completed another sudoku too.
Since I was having “issues” with Animal Crossing‘s Wifi connection, I thought I’d try Tetris and see if that worked. Within seconds, I was paired with some Japanese guy (or girl) for a game of Push Mode. They were clearly much better than me, and so the game didn’t last long, but at least Wifi was working. No idea what is up with Animal Crossing then…
Played this for a few hours this evening. Mainly, I was harvesting the 220,000+ bells-worth of fruit that was on the floor and had regrown on the trees, but I also found a few fossils and ran a few errands for animals. Wolfgang has done a runner, probably as I wasn’t gay for him, so my town is now down three animals and no-one has replaced them, so it looks a bit empty. In fact, Lucky told me so himself. …
Was very successful in all my tests today, managing to get in the top three, or tie with 3rd place, in almost all of them. Almost every single graph showed an upturn from yesterday as a result, which was good. Made a mistake on Time Lapse (I got the little and big hands confused like a stupid child), but it netted me second place anyway. Really pregressing with Triangle Math(s) too – it’s getting pretty easy now (although the (x+y)-(y-z) …
Just the one puzzle today, a Super Hard one, which was really quite difficult due to the chequerboard-type nature of so many of the squares. It took about 20 minutes to do, which is forever for one of these puzzles. Anyway, I have 10 Super Hard puzzles complete now, only 20 to go…
And still the fruit keeps coming. I’m not sure I can cope with it all. Fruit overload! Sold about 60,000 bells worth today, but aside from that I didn’t do very much else, apart from turnip duties. Nook offered me just 80 bells today (is that in the 80s every day so far this week then?) so I didn’t sell any. Looks like it might be another end-of-the-week, hope-for-a-price-elsewhere session then.
Aside from “TWO” being recognised as “NINE” in Voice Calculation, I didn’t have much in the way of problems today. At least, not in terms of actual scores. I did have a HUGE problem with (once again) Reading Aloud – it took me more than 20 attempts to get the thing to actually allow me to read it, as it kept complaining I was reading too fast. Bah. Today’s Brain Age: 24 again. Even though I did better than yesterday …
I’ve done quite a few more puzzles today, taking my Hard total up to 23, and my Super Hard up to about 6. That should mean the game is roughly 50% done now, I think. Can’t be bothered working it out properly, though.
More puzzles completed today – two more Hard and two more Super Hard. Nothing too taxing, and one of the Hard puzzles was really easy – almost every square was full of rows and columns of the form 10, 8-1, 7-2, 6-3 and 5-4, or were blank. So not Hard at all then.
I’d never heard of Don Doko Don. I don’t even recall seeing it on MAME. But I set about playing it (on Taito Legends 2) anyway, and then ended up completing it. Like several of the games on Taito Legends, Don Doko Don is very similar to Bubble Bobble. You have a single screen per level, and one or two players have to defeat all the baddies on the level to progress. Where Bubble Bobble have Bub and Bob, dinosaurs …
With it being E3 this week, loads of trailers and a few demos have appeared on the Xbox Live Marketplace. I’d heard absolutely nothing about Lost Planet so I thought it ideal to be the one I downloaded. Obviously. And it’s, erm, bizarre. In many ways, it’s fantastic (the napalm-like fire explosions and the snowstorm effects are great. The Bionic Commando zipline grappler device is underused (in this demo, anyway), and there only seem to be three types of baddie. …
86 bells for turnips today, which was poor. Again. Made about 80,000 bells from fruit, although there’s still a bit on the ground and I know most of it is going to grow back again tomorrow anyway. Found a few fossils, but I’d already got them so they were sold off too. Still no sign of Wendell. Haven’t seen him in aaaaaages now, and I have a big pile of red turnips to give him.
Once again, I am confused. For the three Brain Age tests, I broke one record, and came third for the other two. And my resultant age? 24. Now, 24 is good, but I don’t understand why I got it and not 20, when I got such high scores (or low times, if you prefer) – better than when I got 20, in fact. Why does it seem to “raise the bar” every day? Is it supposed to? Anyway. In general, …
Not selling the fruit yesterday was a bad idea – there’s TONS of it in Cheese today, both on trees and on the floor. I spentabout half an hour clearing it, and made about 120,000 bells, but I’ve barely made a dent. Turnips were 80 bells today, which was crap. So I didn’t sell them. Nook was a bit preoccupied anyway, with hair concerns. Went shopping at Crazy Redd’s, but I already had a Calm Painting. I did buy his …
