Fable

I hate Balverines. Expecially when there are five of them together. And the quest I went on involved not only killing a load of them, but also slapping about a group of eight bandits, and finally killing a hulking great White Balverine (who kept summoning more normal Black Balverines). Of course, I did it because I am grate (and the game isn’t actually very hard). Although, I reached the Arena for the quest after that, and after killing several waves …

Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude

My time today was split between Analisa (guess Larry’s hilarious pronunciation of that, if you can) and Bilzarbra (what kind of a name is that?). I managed to “win” them both over, which in Bilzarbra’s case involved a sentient arcade machine. I also stumbled across the Porn Fairy, who looks alarmingly like Ron Jeremy. He burst into song, singing about being the Porn Fairy to the tune of the Gilbert and Sullivan “Pirate King” song. Which was nice.

Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude

I found an easy way to make money today – taking photos. Get at least two “lights” on the camera, and take a picture. Then, take your snaps to the geeky guy in the library and he’ll pay you for them, $1-per-light, for a fee of $1-per-photo. The cheerleaders all in one shot gets you $4 this way, so you can rack up the money fairly easily. Won over Zanna, by beating her at strip-trampolining (as you do), and they …

Paper Mario 2

I hate tedious fetch quests. Especially when you’re not actually fetching anything! I found Goldbob (I realised I knew who it was), and then went back to Fahr Outpost. Now I needed to find General White, and so spent an hour going to every town I’d visited over the course of the game looking for him. And guess what? He’s not in any of them! But you have to go to all of them anyway!

Paper Mario 2

After wandering aimlessly in the sewers looking for the Ultra-hammer, I went back to Rogueport Square, and it became obvious where it was. So, picking up that, I went back down the sewers, and made my way to Fahr Outpost. Went up a couple more levels, and boosted my Badge Points. I have so many badges now, I look like Ace from Dr. Who. I now have to find General White and Goldbob. Whoever, and wherever they are. No-one mentions …

Mario 64DS

Just a quick play on this today. Got another star (by getting red coins from all the Boos in the courtyard), and caught three more rabbits to unlock some more mini-games. Played them for a while too. The shell-smacking one is ace.

Paper Mario 2

Despite trying 21534562 times yesterday, it seems the Star Statue inside the Creepy Steeple does actually move if you push it. Ho hum. Wandered through the “level”, and reached the boss, who was unnervingly easy to kill. I mean, REALLY easy. Then [a thing that is a spoiler happened] and I took control of [spoiler], who turned out to actually be [spoiler]. Bizarre. Went back to Twilight Town, where I met [er, spoiler], but couldn’t kill him. Luckily, he couldn’t …

Paper Mario 2

I appear to be stuck. Although I went down the well, there didn’t seem to be anything I could do down there, except push a door forwards and backwards. Goombella says I should “leave it for now”, so I wondered if I’d missed anything inside the Creepy Steeple main building. I can’t see anything to so, and tried hitting and blowing everything, but nothing happened. I can’t see any obvious markings anywhere either. I must have missed something somewhere, I …

Mario 64DS

Still sticking with it, despite the problems I’m having with the controls. Have I mentioned the problems with the controls? They’re awful. Rescued Mario, which has improved things a little. Yoshi just doesn’t feel “right” for the game. I’ve now got 16 Stars, and so went and had a crack at the first Bowser boss. Not that I could even reach him, as the terrible controls make the tricky platform section before him bloody hard. Grr!

Anarchy Online

Did some more subway teaming today. Delved very deep into some odd looking place, along with four others, all Level 10 to 14. After an hour or so of killing frighteningly hard baddies (which were much easier teamed!), I was up to Level 14 myself. Said my goodbyes and left then. Got to try that again soon, though – it’s the best way to level up, as you don’t need to worry about healing with doctors on your team.

Pikmin 2

Just had a quick go, working my way to one of the caves at the back of Perplexing Pool, and grabbing some treasure on the way. Got into a cave, seemingly set in a toy room. I’ve done three sub-levels so far, and it seems very easy. There’s not a lot of treasure to be had yet either.

Pikmin 2

Finished the dungeon I was in, racking up to 64% debt repaid in the process. Collected loads of Bulborb Pikmin thingies whilst I was down there too, although when I finished the dungeon, they didn’t follow me out. Shame, since they’re everything-proof, it seems. Had a bit of a hard time with the boss of the cave; some huge great slug Bulborb Queen thing, that kept spewing mini-Bulborbs out of her arse, and rolling around flattening everything (mostly my Pikmin). …

Pikmin 2

Am working my way through another dungeon in the Valley of Repose at the moment. Have found some bulb-baddie thingies with leaves on them that seem to like me, and act like Pikmin. Very bizarre. Just as well I found them too – most of my yellow Pikmin got squashed by another rock-firing baddie, and I needed some electricity-proof Pikmin to get through some of the sublevels. Thankfully, these new allies are electricity immune too!

Pikmin 2

So I found the blue Onion today, and merrily spent an hour racking up my Blue Army. Then proceeded to wander through one of the levels and kill no end of huge baddies, including one of those bird-head things. I have all the Pikmin colours now, but it does annoy me a little that you can’t grow more white or purple ones, but instead have to find flowers and convert five or so other colours at a time.
