Beer again
This one is called “Light Mild”, which is boringly generic. However, the purpose of the post is to mock those at work again. MOCK!
On the Internet at the Dawn of Time #1
As an addition to my other “dawn of time” occasionals, I thought I’d bring you this – a contribution to the BBC’s “h2g2”. As you may know, h2g2 was set up to be an actual real version of the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (hence the name). In fact, it pretty much became a forerunner to Wikipedia, and in the last few years it seems to have been mostly abandoned in favour of it. Anyway, In 1996 I came up …
There’s beers a-doin’
Are you one of those poor people reading from work? Are you? Ah, poor you. I’m at a beer festival and have BEER. This beer is called Hope and Glory. It is nice and you don’t have any.
Milkshake
I’m playing Phoenix Wright 3, and Phoenix’s girlfriend is giving a testimony. The men in the room are somewhat transfixed by her. Mia is less than impressed…
More adventures in uptime
After yesterday’s Macbook uptime report I had to reboot as expected. Today, I installed a new keyboard on my PC (sadly, last week’s cleaning killed my other one a bit) and had to reboot that. Here’s the uptime before I hit the switch. Pathetic!
Massive uptime!
Well, it isn’t that massive, but compared to the usual peak of 40 days (ish) on my desktop PCs, 123 days on my Macbook is quite impressive. Even more so because it’s a laptop, I think. Anyway, I took this photo as my Mac has stopped recognising external drives (my fault – I was backing it up last night and pulled the external drive too early) so I think I may have to reboot soon. Shame!
Exterminate!
Most predictable subject for this photo EVER! Just seen a dalek in Norwich city centre, scaring the kiddies and having trouble going backwards. It reminded me of those cheap crap remote control cars from the 80s that went forwards and turned in reverse. Amazing scenes.
There are about 1,887,480 germs on my keyboard
1,887,480How Many Germs Live On Your Keyboard? At least, there were. I’ve just spent the last half an hour cleaning it, removing all the keys, getting the anti-bacterial spray out and giving it a good wash. I didn’t intend to do anything more than just wipe over the keys and key surrounds, but a key popped out and what was underneath made me feel a little ill… Mmm, tasty. I even found a couple of dead insects. Ace! Anyway, nice …
I have joined the Social Networking "scene"
Which may come as a bit of a shock to some of my readers, as I’ve been vocal in the past about how much I don’t wish to be a part of Facebook, MySpace, Bebo et al. It wasn’t as much of a shock as it was to me, though – I didn’t have a say in it! I got an email today saying I’d been added as a friend by someone I know who works for the LEA (Local …
The joys of SQL
I don’t usually post webcomics, but this one spoke to me on two levels – I work in a school, and I do stuff with SQL databases.
Adding "digg it" buttons to Blogger
As you have no doubt noticed, I’ve added some digg blog furniture to my posts. This wasn’t quite as simple as the instructions on digg suggested, sadly, so I had to find help elsewhere. This page was most helpful, but it deals only with New Blogger with it’s fancy modern templates and tags, and I’m still using a (heavily modified) old Blogger template, so the examples provided didn’t work. Thankfully, they only required minor tweaks. I was interested in the …
Halo 3
Those of you even with a vague passing interest in video games can’t have failed to notice that Halo 3 came out recently for the Xbox 360. Apparently there were queues at midnight for it and everything. Even my friends list on Xbox Live was full of Halo 3 players for the first few days. But, if you read my Gaming Diary, you’ll have noticed I’ve not played it. “But you own every game ever! Surely you bought Halo 3!” …
