This appeared in my pigeonhole at work today. I’m assuming it was put there because it mentions computers, and therefore is obviously my responsibility. Anyway, as is always the way with these things, it’s a scam.
The company, TLAC Ltd, at Kemp House, 152-160 City Road, London EC1V 2NX (address included for the benefit of Googlers) appears to offer “thankyou prizes and awards”, not unlike Survey UK. As before, I hunted around on the internet, and found this message on The Guardian’s website.
To cut it short, you ring up a premium rate number to claim your “award”, spending more money on the call than the value of the “prize” you actually receive. Note the footnote for the digital camera (the cheapest of the “prizes”), which states “all electrical items require a payment of ¬¨¬£6.50 which includes insurance and delivery”, thus grabbing more of your cash for rubbish.
So it’s not a “prize” or and “award” – it’s a lottery. A rubbish one at that.

Sometimes there are things that just need to escape my head.

Oh! yes I must add my number is also TA00075…Les
My elderly Mum got this the other day; not sure where from, but thankfully she gave it to me – guess what TA00075! What if everyone sent the letter back + one more item of junk mail (sure everyone’s got enough of that) to the registered office EC1V 2NX. This looks like a paid mailbox, so hopefully this would cost Winners Club something extra. As an initial offer, I’m sending them some leaflets today for car insurance AND double glazing AND gym membership and will put 2nd class stamp on so it all gets delivered – worth it!
heya cheers for the info , was never going to ring this number up classic scam but was kind of mind boggling y i would get this in a order i recieved from a reputable catalouge company ? . anyway took me like 10 seconds to have my thoughts confirmed tx.
My wife received one of Amanda Fisher’s letters with a Daxon order and we made the phone call lo and behold the code was TA00075.Unfortunately we had not seen this blog, I phoned the “Customer Service” number and got an answering machine ‘leave your name and number we will call back’ needless to say no return call.I now have three of these letters and will be writing to Daxon informing them that they are party to a great big scam. All future award letters will be returned unstamped to the senders.

I have received exactly the same letter and same code TA00075, it was received in my parcel from Grattan, I am also going to ring them as this is absolutely disgraceful. Luckily I have the facility to google this type of thing however some people dont and are being sucked in!
Thank you everyone. I too received one of their letters with the code TA00075. Thank goodness I googled it as well. I will now go and bin it!
i also got winning no taooo75 with cataloge
I recieved a letter with my studio statement, from TLAC,sayin i had won one of the thank you prizes listed. My husband wasnt happy about me going to ring it at £1.50 per min, sayin it was a con.So i decided to google it instead. I could not believe it when i saw that everyone had the same despatch code as i had-TA00075. Iam so glad my hubby didnt want me to ring,we would of had a big phone bill and nothing to show for it.But when its nearly x-mas and you have 3 young children, the chance of winning a bit of cash is a dream. I cant believe how they can do that, wot a con and thanks to everyone who has spoke up about it.
Sooo glad i checked this online.. seems im not the only one with despatch code TA00075, i cant believe studio sends this out with their orders, they must get paid or something.
as studio is a reputable company i can see how people would think it was genuine.
its what they say.. if its too good to be true… it usually is… !
Im so GLAD i checked this web site before waisting my money on silly little scams like this .
i got the same code live everybody else who has put a comment on here . thank god for the internet . this piece of paper will be going threw the shredder .
My “award” came with the Easylife lifestyle solutions catalogue and I nearly fell for it. The code was 507705 this time.
I have also received a letter via the Easylife catalogue.
The award manager is still Amanda Fisher and like Patricia my wonderful prize was on code 507705. There is no such thing as a free lunch!!

Same number, 507705, same scam, now operating from Ross-on Wye.
Leave well alone. Amanda Fisher, or whoever, you’re a disgrace.
My scam letter arrived today, with the easylife magazine, from Amanda Fisher, the award code is 507705.I will not be ordering anything from easylife magazine
my letter is the same as Patricia, John and Roger Рcan I also say that I bought something from the easylife catalogue, cost £12 +p&p РI returned for a refund as it was so tacky I worked out I could buy the materials for about £1.50 and make it myself

have recieved a letter from the loyalty awards club, alarm bells rang as soon as i saw Ross on Wye as the address as this is where a lot of these scams eminate from
Does anyone know how to get these guys either on their website or by e-mail? It seems that my deceased father-in-law has won a major prize (ha ha!) and I am trying to stop all the junk mail being sent to his address (which is horrendous) to avoid being unable to enter the house due to the pile up of junk pushed through the letter box. If you do, pls mail me at jayne@kabelfoon.net
I thought it was my lucky day , a FREE camcorder!!!!!
My scam letter arrived today courtesy of my home shopping catalogue. Just popping round to the police station to offer them the opportunity to pick up my prize. Suggest others do same. Someone should be able to stop these leeches before they do much more damage to the naieve and vulnerable.
My letter from Amanda Fisher arrived with my order from Ambrose Wilson – am glad I checked this blog before I did something stupid.
I received a letter this morning with a catalogue from shopping direct. I must admit it did sound to good to be true. Someone giving things away for nothing! I am glad I checked first before going ahead. There should be some sort of body monitoring the distribution of things like this. Thanks for the information about this scam.
Scam !!!!!! Amanda Fisher Again , Award Code 507705.
REF: TLAC/AF/£25,000
They really do move around to different addresses !

I am sooooo angry with these stupid people i called the number gave them my award code 507705 said I had won 25,000 cash. So I decided to call 019897605454 as it is on the shit of paper and someone answered and told me to send two stamps.
something should be done. I dont know how much Bt is going to charge me
Yes once again I received the same no:TA00075, this firm is acctually in City Rd as stated as I used to live in the area, now I wish I had gone in there and found out what they are playing at, all our data keeps going to all these addresses so making it illegal and anyone can use our names and addresses.
I am surprised that the ‘big book’ catalogue companies still use these methods. I recall back in the mid to late 1990s that it was commonplace for the likes of Littlewoods and Freemans to use these recruitment mailings, but had always assumed that they had moved with the times and this sort of practice was no longer viable.

Avoid buying from Home Shopping
This is a general thing- it is surprising that mail order catalogues do not weed the inserts they receive- it seems they do not read pages like this. My elderly mum seems to think these letters are genuine- I am always at pains to point out to her this is not the case. As always in these cases, it is the most vunerable in soceity who stand to lose most. There is only one thing to do with these flyers- bin it. Don’t even bother with trading standards- they will just give the same advice.
Thabkyou for the blog, I have received the letter this morning with a parcel from my catalogue company. I actually though it was direct from them. I then double checked the name on the letter and found this. Robbing bastards!
Ordered some knives from a cookery mag and received a nice letter from Amanda Fisher in Ross-on-Wye, Hereford (she certainly gets about a bit) with my order, reference 507705. I will no longer use that company. Thanks for the guidance.

I’ve been a victim of these people for both telephone calls and money sent to them for delivery and insurance £9.95 Is there a way a way to sue them ?

I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT REPUTABLE COMPANIES INCLUDE THIS “OFFER” WITH THEIR MAILINGS AS HAS HAPPENED TO ME TODAY. I OBVIOUSLY WILL NOT BE CONTACTING THEM.
Just received a flyer for TLAC in a kitchen equipment mail order cataloque and fortunately, being suspicious, read the small print. This one was a phone call @ £1.50 per min for 6 mins plus £9.95 ‘insurance and delivery’ for electrical items, including the 10,000 MP3 players on offer. I’d ‘definitely won one of the prizes listed’ which was obviously going to be an MP3 player. So if we assume that the cost to them of the MP3 players is the £9.95 they are charging for ‘insurance’ (probably it’s less) that they have to pay the mail order company for placing the flyer (say £5K), that true 2nd class postage for the player is £1, if they had 100% takeup they’d make somewhere around £75K! Not bad! Even with only 25% takeup that would amount to around £19-20K and so still worth doing!
I then did a google search for information about this mob, came across you guys and was so taken by the sheer volume of comment that, though I normally don’t do so, on this occasion I would write something.
Unfortunately I suspect there’s little anyone can do as they are, technically, delivering what they claim in the flyer. The issue is one of morality; it’s up to us, the consumer, to deduce that, whilst free lunches do sometimes come around, you’ve generally first taken an action to expect some sort of reward (Scoop 6, Prizedraw, Lotto etc.). Anything else is probably just wishful thinking with a well concealed price tag!
By the way, they seem to like this code 507705 – mine was the same!
