Fallout 3 (360)

Two days of play in one handy diary entry. Hurrah! I was heading for Rivet City, at first through the Metro, then overland along the river. Found a house where a drunk called Dukov lived with his two lady friends, and considered killing him, but decided against it. Found loads of bandits and super mutants on the way down the riverside, as well as some centaurs, who are like squid-faced man-crabs that spit actual crap at you. Nice action! Eventually …

Fallout 3 (360)

GNR Relay dish GET! So many Super Mutants and Super Mutant Brutes to kill both in the museum and on the run to the Washington Monument! And then I found a barracks, full of brutes, so I ran away. I’m on Level 8 now too. Still loving it!

Fallout 3 (360)

Today I managed to make it to the Galaxy News radio tower, where I had to see off a giant super mutant outside it, before being given a quest by Three Dog to go to a museum. Took aaaaages to get there, mainly because I kept getting lost in the metro system. And, when I did get to the museum, I found a million super mutants waiting outside. They took some taking down! I’ve played for about 14 hours now, …

The Fallout 3 Addiction

It’s happening all over again. It’s Oblivion once more. And, even though Fallout 3 has the OCD-factor turned way down in comparison (there’s no alchemy, no stat grinding, etc.) there’s still waaaay too much to get me hooked. Like gun collection. And paranoid constant equipment repair. And having to speak to everyone and try every possible conversation permutation. And unnecessary, self-imposed inventory management. It’s all horribly, horribly addictive. I’ve played about 14 hours in less than three days. And the …

Fallout 3 (360)

Oh, it’s just like Oblivion all over again! It’s impossible to stop playing! Nooooo! Today, where I only played for four hours, I managed to find Lucy West’s Brother, went exploring a lot, and started making my way over to the Galaxy News radio tower. Found the Metro entrance you need to take to get there. There was a raider waiting outside, so I shot at him with my hunting rifle. My first shot missed, but hit the car he …

Fillum review: Be Kind Rewind (2007)

I was absolutely convinced this film came out this year, but Virgin On Demand says 2007. Not that it matters at all, it just seems too long ago. Anyway. Jerry (Jack Black) and Mike (Mos Def) are left in charge of a video rental shop while the owner goes on a recon mission to figure out how to make more money in order to save the building the shop is in from demolition. While he’s away, a freak accident magnetically …

The final anti-natal class

This week’s fourth and final class was all about “meeting baby”. I don’t really like the term, as we’re not going to be meeting him or her, are we? It’s already there, we just don’t know what it looks like. Anyway. We were told about methods and types of feeding, the various advantages and disadvantages of breast feeding and bottle feeding, which did sort of confuse us as only this week we bought bottles to use with breast milk, so …

Fallout 3 (360)

I’ve been waiting for this for what seems like forever. Forever since Oblivion, anyway. It’s like every other game between Oblivion and Fallout 3 has existed solely to pass the time. Anyway, I’ve spend five hours game-time (but actually, longer – read on) already today. That’s a lot for me. Addicted? Of course not. Honest. I’m really, really enjoying it. The opening sequence in the vault was brilliant. I redid a bit of the escape as I didn’t manage to …

Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise (360)

Several new pinatas in my garden today – Fizzlybears, Mallowolves and Polollybears all made resident and sent to parties, knocking my level up to about 132. I also master romanced Hoghurts and Peckanmixes, as well as Goobaas, which helped raise my level. Got two achievements today too – one for getting a Polollybear, and the other for completing all of the Region 2 party challenges.

Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts Demo (360)

It’s not a Banjo-Kazooie game. It’s not a proper platformer, you have none of the abilities that made Banjo-Kazooie different to other platformers of it’s day, and it plays like a confused mess. Sorry, Rare, but once again you seem to have forgotten how to make games. Either you do a Banjo platformer, or you do Nuts & Bolts sans Banjo and Kazooie. What you’ve got here is a mishmash of illfitting game elements, in Banjo paint. You’ve alienated those …

I have NOT broken the £25 Rule

I posted earlier that I’d broken the £25 Rule – the self-imposed game price limit I’ve stuck to for over a year – so I could get the Special Edition version of Fallout 3 for the Xbox 360. Well, Good News, Everyone! It would appear that Game have made a bit of an error, and instead of charging me the £32-ish (some of which I’d get back via Quidco) they should have done, my credit card statement shows they’ve only …
