Just a quick play today to make sure none of my animals were trying to move out or anything. They weren’t. Dug up quite a few fossils today, and bought some furniture and clothes I hadn’t seen before too. Bluebear asked for more Modern Furniture, but I didn’t have any so had to order some. She’d best bloody take it this time, as last time she told me she’d stopped collecting it! Kill.
Aces. I managed to complete Level 7 easily this time (well, I had about 15 seconds remaining, but still…), and then went on and completed Level 8 first attempt, without any real problems. That unlocked me an achievement, meaning I’ve managed about 100 gamerpoints today. Excelcior!
Played several more online Ranked matches today, mainly playing as Ken, but (sadly) also mostly lost them. Pah. E. Honda players who just hammer the punch buttons annoy me. That’s not playing, that’s just retarded. Anyway, I have now won/played 17/42 matches, which is better than many of the people I’ve seen online so far. I need 30 wins for an achievement, and 50 games played for another one.
Pac-Man was new on the XBLA downloads today, so I bought it and played it. Yes, it’s just Pac-Man and is exactly the same Pac-Man as it was several decades ago, but still. I managed to rack up some 85 gamerpoints by unlocking achievements, but my score is crap – still under 10,000 points. Someone on my friends list is at about 58,000 at the moment. Bah.
Just the one go whilst I waited for Pac-Man to download. I managed a really good run, though, getting up to about level 8 or 9, and earning a score just shy of 60,000 points. OK, so it isn’t a fantastic score by any means, but it’s waaaay better than my previous 28,000-ish.
For the last few days I’ve been working on this, using Inform 7. It’s crap, it’s unfinished, and there are probably still plenty of bugs, but it’s mine! Huzzah. Have a play below, and see it update each time I update it.
Craaaazy Redd was about today, but his wares were rubbish, as I already had them all. So I punched him in the face. Hurrah! My animals were a bit dull today too, as none of them wanted anything. Well, Sally asked me to deliver a letter, but that took all of five seconds so doesn’t really count. Did a bit of weeding too, but that was pretty much it for today’s jaunt to Cheese.
Amazing! Three games in three days, after a lapse of a few weeks! A new animal moved in today, presumably to replace Robin who moved out. She’s another squirrel, called Sally. ACE. None of my existing animals wanted me to do anything for them this evening – Rodeo didn’t beg for clothes, Bluebear didn’t ask for Modern Furniture, and no-one else was after anything either. I meant to play Magnetica, but I picked this up by mistake. Oh well – decided to work through it a bit more anyway! I’ve completed much of the story mode, being on level 17 or so now. There’s only one “boss space” remaining, and not a lot of actuall land left for more levels to open up in, so I’m fairly confident I’m nearing the end.
Using Magic Time Travelling Powers, I warped back to last night to catch K.K. Slider (who played me K.K. Chorale), and then wandered round town watching the fireworks. Tortimer gave me some sparklers and roman candles, which were great, only I couldn’t use them to set fire to stuff. Which is a shame, as I wanted to torch Nookingtons.
And this gets a bit bloody hard too! I’ve been working through Basic, and am now up to level 12 or 13, but since level 10 the colours don’t “run” from, say, blue to red – they cycle round, red-blue-yellow-red. This means that certain colours can’t be changed by other colours. For instance, if you’re on an orange one, and you make it “more blue”, you get a black, unchangeable, block instead. Erk! It isn’t “basic” any more!
I seem to be working my way up the right-hand-side of the “level select” screen. I don’t know if this a because I’m doing well, or doing poorly, but I suspect the latter as it’s a bit bloody hard. I can’t do the second Sound Slalom level (which is the fourth level so far), and the level previous was really quite difficult. The best way to play is with headphones, and with your eyes closed. It has been a couple of weeks since I last played this, and the main thing that shows is that I kept trying to press buttons other than Y to jump, as I’ve been playing Tomb Raider: Legend and other 360 games. Warped to the Town Where Everyone Is Invisible, and finished off that quest (which was completed almost accidentally), and then decided, after saving, to slaughter everyone I could find. Hurrah!
