Knights of the Old Republic (Xbox)

Rancor SLAIN! Hurrah! It turns out (look away for minor spoiler) if you put the odour vial you pick up just before him into a corpse in front of him, along with a frag mine, the idiot ignores you and eats the mine. And bang! After that, I was into the Black Vulkar base, which unsurprisingly, was full of Black Vulkars. Who all tried to kill me. Worked my way through it, disabled the turrets guarding the lift to the …

Knights of the Old Republic (Xbox)

Entered the Dueling thingie, and defeated Deadeye, some other useless bloke, and Ice. Did have a go at fighting the next guy up, but he was a bit too strong for me at the moment, so I’ll come back later. Managed to get myself into the Lower City, and fought off a load of the Black Vulkars. After visiting the Cantina down there, and getting involved in some bounty huntering and stuff, I worked my way into the Hidden Becs …

Knights of the Old Republic (Xbox)

I’ve had this game for some time, and have intended to play it many times before, but never got round to it. So today, I finally stuffed it in my Xbox and gave it a go. I’m not really sure what I was expecting. Some kind of “normal” RPG, like Final Fantasy or something, I suppose, but in fact it is much more like Anarchy Online. Only not online. Or multiplayer. But it is similar, if a bit cut-down. Chose …

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater (N-Gage)

Well, Downhill Jam has me stumped. At least I managed to get past it by going back to the Warehouse and School levels and trying a few more goals (“tapes”, as they’re called here) to get the required total to open up Burnside. No, not the guy from The Bill. I recognise Burnside from THPS2, as it’s part of a larger level there. It’s a skate competition level, and it’s hard. I can’t seem to “mix it up” enough to …

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater (N-Gage)

Yes! The original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. And yes! On the N-Gage! And again, yes! It is a bit crap! But I bought it today so really should play it whilst waiting for the Dreamcast and PS1 Tony Hawk games to arrive… No reverts. No manuals. No lip-tricks. No “tweaking” tricks. No backflips, forward flips or rolls. No balance bar (you have to rely upon the wonk angle of Tony). It’s a bit “old school” and no mistake. I also …

Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)

Spent a while picking the rest of the fruit from the trees, and selling them at Nook’s. I have about 200,000 bells left of my mortgage to pay off, and would have done already if I’d got a decent price for my turnips… Speaking of which, there was no Joan this morning, so I couldn’t buy any more anyway. On the up side, I did get a letter from “mom” enclosing 10,000 bells. Did a bit of fishing for bells …

Animal Crossing: Wild World

DAMN YOU, TOM NOOK. Today is the day I must sell my turnips, or they’ll rot overnight and I’ll lose out. And 42 bells is all he’ll offer me! KILL. Not only that, but the Nintendo WFC is down so I can’t even visit someone else and sell my turnips there. DOUBLE KILL. Spent a while selling fruit as my trees were all full, and went and talked to some of the animals and the mayor (who has started the …

Tony Hawk’s American Wasteland: WASTED! AGAIN!

And now Classic Mode is complete as well. Ho hum. That means I’m all out of Tony Hawk games. I had managed to reach The Ruins (the last level on Classic) when playing earlier, but even after getting all of the goals, the game didn’t “complete”. Going back and doing some of the goals on previous levels (mainly Kyoto, in the end) did trigger the end sequence, however. After that, I played a few games of Trick Attack on Xbox …

Tony Hawk’s American Wasteland: WASTED!

Game number 53 completed! Hurrah! Found the last of the pro skaters, and found the entrance to the casino. Once in there, I had to snag a load more pieces for the skate ranch (some of which were pretty hard), and then the police chased me all the way back to the ranch. I expected to have to do some “final task”, like in THUG and THUG2, but no – that was it. Guy gets Dirrrty Mindy, Skate Ranch is …

Tony Hawk’s American Wasteland

Carried on from where I left off yesterday. I spent most of my time wandering around finding new bits for the Skate Ranch, including some velvet ropes, a shark’s head, and a big dome thing. Unlocked some new areas on the way, and had to do some board, bike and graffiti “missions” for the local “cholo” gang, The Black Widows. Had to get myself a tattoo as well, so as to fit in with them. After that, and some skating …
