Phoenix Wright: Justice for All (DS)

After this weekend’s dual diversions of Elite Beat Agents and Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam, it was back to the serious matter of acquitting people of murder. I’ve made a start on Case 4, the last one in the game. So far, I’ve been at a fancy awards ceremony, someone has died, Maya has been kidnapped, and lots of people from the previous game have reappeared. I haven’t even started investigating the murder yet, and I’ve been playing for about half …

Amped 3 (360)

Yes. I know I didn’t like the demo, OK? But I bought it anyway, OK? It was only £18 at Play so it was rude not to. Or something. Besides, my Oblivion disc was lonely. Imagine my surprise then, when I really enjoyed playing it. Did a few “missions”, including carving to impress someone, and then “doing” Weinerland, which was hilarious. I think I just need to come to terms with this not being a Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater game, …

Amped 3 (Demo) (360)

I’ve never really got on with snowboarding games, which is odd, as I really like Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. I think the main problem is the you-can’t-go-back thing resulting from hurtling down the hill. Amped 3 is the first in its series that I’ve played, and it’s a bit, well, odd. In some ways, it’s like SSX, but without the silly wind-up to trick control, and in other ways it’s just completely unreal and off the wall with it’s character …

Sonic Rush

Just a quick go. I didn’t really want to get into it until I’d finished Sonic Advance 3 but, well, it arrived today. And was shiny. And it’s great! The music is totally not Sonic, and there’s a Tony Hawk’s type trick system to go with the usual rail grinding, and it’s fast. Very fast. But great! Only played through the first zone and beat the first boss though. And the boss was great too – 3D without 3D-ness. Sort …

Spider-Man 2

Well. The web-swinginging bits are all very nice, if a little difficult to control, and the jump-when-you-release-jump (like in Tony Hawk’s) is a little unusual for a platform beat-em-up, but my 30 minutes or so with it so far have been pretty good fun. I swung around the city a bit, beat some people up, retrieved a purse, ran up some walls, leapt on a car and smashed the window, and swung around some more. I might actually have to …
