Oekaki Puzzle Battle (DS)
Just one puzzle today, taking my Super Hard remaining levels to just 12. This one (a mini tulip or possibly some corn) was pretty easy, although it took a while to complete.

Oh my. This game is messed up. I don’t know what the designers were on, but the result is one of the most bizarre things ever. It’s like a cross between SSX, The Magic Roundabout, Homestar Runner, Seanbaby and Dude, Where’s My Car? No, really. I mean, one of today’s tasks was to get a high score on a stretch of mountain. Fair enough, yes? Except that it was presented by what appeared to be a character from an obscure …
Another quick day’s play today. I am beginning to tire of the game now, but it has served me well for over five months, with me playing almost every single day. It’s just between daily Crossing and daily Brain Age, I’m missing out on the twenty billion other games I have. Perhaps I’ll make it six months and then call it a day. Anyway. Turnips were 74 bells today. I did, however, manage to bump into Wendell (finally!) and so …
Although I managed to completely mess up Time Lapse today (getting a time of almost three minutes), mainly due to mixing up the big and little hands in some kind of primary schoolchild way, I did pretty well overall. My best score was on Syllable Count, where I managed to finih it in 36 seconds. It was the only scoreboard I wasn’t at the top of, with the previous best being 42 seconds or so. ACES. To top it all …
Yes. I know I didn’t like the demo, OK? But I bought it anyway, OK? It was only £18 at Play so it was rude not to. Or something. Besides, my Oblivion disc was lonely. Imagine my surprise then, when I really enjoyed playing it. Did a few “missions”, including carving to impress someone, and then “doing” Weinerland, which was hilarious. I think I just need to come to terms with this not being a Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater game, …
On today’s list: water red turnip (check), find out white turnip prices (check – 80 bells each), visit all my animals in the hope there might be some belated birthday gifts (check – there wasn’t), dig up gyroids as it rained yesterday (check – found three), buy everything in Nook’s (nope – couldn’t be bothered), harvest all ten million fruit in the town (nope – I sold about 25,000 bells worth, but couldn’t bring myself to do the rest). I’m …
Another day, another brain workout. It was having problems recognising the number 8 in many of the tests during today’s session, which made my times in Calculations x20 a bit rubbish, and as a result my overall Brain Age was 24. OK, so better than yesterday, but I want more 20s! Pah.
Three more Super Hard puzzles completed today, meaning I have just 13 left to do now. There’s still a good chance I might have it completed by the end of the well. Well, a slim chance. Maybe.
With all of the Hard puzzles complete, I had only Super Hard to work through. I managed three of them in double-quick time, mainly as they were all so easy. In fact, one of them (which turned out to be some kind of magic staff) had 6 of the 16 squares completely empty, and 8 of the other 10 could be filled in instantly with no deduction required. That leaves me with just 16 Super Hard puzzles to do, meaning …
Didn’t play all of the training thingies today, as I didn’t have a huge amount of time, was a bit tired, and since they’re all unlocked now it can take a fair while to get through them all. My age for the day, however, was 25. Bah.
I’ve just noticed that my post about Oblivion yesterday was my 1000th post to this Gaming Diary. That’s 1000 posts, in almost exactly 500 days. So two gaming sessions a day. Cripes. Did very little in Animal Crossing today. I got about a million (well, three) letters with presents in them for today is my birthday! Hurrah! Robin, Margie and Friga (my “bitches” then) all sent me letter and crap presents. None of my other animals, even the gay ones, …
Decided to join the Arena. Er, so I did. Warped to Imperial City, found the Arena, and signed up. Was a bit annoyed at the armour juggling I had to go through in order to wear the proper Arena “uniform”, but was soon up and fighting. Achievement Unlocked! 10 Gamerpoints Get! The first three opponents were pretty easy – a woman with a sword, a guy with an axe, and then an archer. I found that shooting fireballs at them …
This appeared on the Xbox Live Arcade downloads today, so I downloaded it. Only had the one game, which consisted of four hands, and I lost. I’d won the first two hands, then Purple won the third, and then someone else won the final hand. Even though I’d won two and he’d won one, his points from that one hand (290) were way ahead of my total (161). And, since you needed 250 to win, I didn’t. Pah.
I like the way this title is worded, as it clearly isn’t an “unlimited demo”, as it quits after about ten minutes play. That aside, and the multitude of horrible bugs (you can’t drive on sand, as you fall through it, and policewomen consist entirely of just a wig moving around the floor) ignored, then it can be considered pretty good fun. I couldn’t actually find all that much stuff to do (one time trial seemed to be it), but …
Mr Brain Doctor Man reminded me it was my birthday tomorrow. As if I’m some kind of idiot and didn’t know. I’m clearly not any kind of idiot, as I regained the Brain Age of 20 crown today! ACES. Completed a couple of sudoku too.
