Assassin’s Creed: Revelations (360)

I started this at the weekend, having found it cheap (and cheap sooner than I anticipated!). For the first couple of hours, I didn’t really like it. It was too different to the previous game, both with the weapons (you have bombs now) and the controls (they’ve shifted stuff from X to Y, and Y to LS), as well as there seemingly being no glyphs, a bizarre Tower Defence section, and no “outside the Animus” bits. Somehow as well, I …

No business like crow business

No apologies for the very poor pun in the title. It was business involving crows. And there’s really nothing like it. Last year, we heard scratching in our (bricked up) chimney. About a week later, the scratching stopped. Whatever had fallen in had either died or escaped, but we didn’t know what it was at the time. A bird? A mouse? A dog? OK, probably not a dog. About three weeks after the scratching stopped, we noticed a few bluebottles …

Commanders: Attack (360)

Up to mission 8 now. This really is very good, especially when, like on mission 6, I completely obliterated the enemy using a million tanks and light artillery, finishing the mission without losing a single unit and with full health. Aces! Mission 7 was a “stay alive for X rounds” mission, and the first to have enemy aircraft. My advisor recommended I use anti-air units, but they were really underpowered and could be destroyed by a gunship in one turn. …

Tomb Raider: Legend (360)

Having owned the game now for a few months, and not even opened it, I thought it about time I made a start on it. I’ve worked my way through Bolivia (which was the demo level I’d played previously, only longer), then arrived in Peru, done the town bit and motocycle chase sequence, done the “Lara as a teenager” section, and have now drained the dig site and am ready to find Amanda. Assuming she’s still alive, anyway. So far, …

Fable

RUBBISH. Even though I saved last night, I had to start the current quest all over again. That meant killing the wasps, Hobbes, and Balverines again. Bah. At least they didn’t take too long. After them, came some Bandits (easy), the Undead (very easy), two Earth Trolls (difficult, since when attacking one, the other hits you), two Rock Trolls (ditto, but worse) and then Arachanox. Regardless of his name, Arachanox is a scorpion, and was very easy to kill, once …

Fable

Since I’m a Right Proper Hero now, I thought I’d best do some Right Proper Heroing. Off I trundled to a nearby town, and talked to all the local laydees. I then examined a bookcase in a house, only to find it wasn’t “examining”, but “stealing”, and the guards ran after me. And hit me with swords. Gah – I was trying to be nice as well. Managed to get away (I couldn’t pay the fine as I didn’t have …
