Saints Row (360)

I started off by finishing a few of the recently-found Snatch missions, before moving on to pimping up my Mag (which I’ve been using as my car of choice for later Snatch missions as it’s pretty durable and can carry three passengers). I then found a new Insurance Fraud activity, so set about clearing that one out too (which was pretty easy, even without the police-car-head-on tactic). I also killed a load of people (starting with the DJ) in a …

Saints Row (360)

With the game complete, I set about doing some of the activities, and trying some of the achievements. First up, destroying helicopters. Picked up three homies, and sat outside a Forgive and Forget shooting stuff. The police soon turned up, and I killed them, and eventually police helicopters arrived. After shooting several down, things got a bit hectic so I nipped in for a quick confessional, and the heat was off again. 13 helicopters down, 37 to go! This will …

Saints Row (360): COMPLETED!

Hurrah! Seeing off Price’s semi was much easier in an Aqua (a HumVee, basically) full of homies, rather than the crap car you’re given for the mission. After a couple of attempts, Price was dead and the game was over! …except, it wasn’t. The credits rolled, but then there were a few more missions to sort out. The police had got involved with the gang wars, and Julius had been arrested by a bent cop. I won’t spoil it for …

Saints Row (360)

Played quite a bit more of this today. I was mosting completing things on the Vice Kings mission line, including blowing up a recording studio, taking over some “hoods”, and racking up my money and “rep” by doing side activities. The best of these activities that I’ve tried so far is the Insurance Fraud one. You have to throw yourself under cars to claim money on your insurance. Of course, trying to bounce yourself off the bonnets of several cars, …

Need for Speed: Most Wanted (Demo) (360)

Oh, this isn’t like Burnout at all, is it? It looks exactly the same, only with licenced cars. Played a race, which was pretty dull (no actual Burnouting or Takedowns), and then played a mode where you have to escape from the police, smash through roadblocks and stuff. It was pretty good fun, but the roadblocks seem to be positioned randomly and you appear to have to find them, rather than them just be where you’re driving to anyway. Overall, …

Condemned (Demo) (360)

It’s dark and it’s scary and it’s by Sega. The first two don’t really go with the third one, do they? It’s pretty impressive, with all the lighting effects and stuff, but the evidence collections seems a little shallow and the police going “oh, we’ll just be popping out of this fire escape, be a good chap and wander round in the dark, will you?” was a bit of a crap plot device, but overall it was good. It reminds …

Test Drive Unlimited (Demo) (360)

I like the way this title is worded, as it clearly isn’t an “unlimited demo”, as it quits after about ten minutes play. That aside, and the multitude of horrible bugs (you can’t drive on sand, as you fall through it, and policewomen consist entirely of just a wig moving around the floor) ignored, then it can be considered pretty good fun. I couldn’t actually find all that much stuff to do (one time trial seemed to be it), but …

Tony Hawk’s American Wasteland: WASTED!

Game number 53 completed! Hurrah! Found the last of the pro skaters, and found the entrance to the casino. Once in there, I had to snag a load more pieces for the skate ranch (some of which were pretty hard), and then the police chased me all the way back to the ranch. I expected to have to do some “final task”, like in THUG and THUG2, but no – that was it. Guy gets Dirrrty Mindy, Skate Ranch is …

Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan

Two more levels done! Managed to get past Giant Rat vs Businessman after about 15 tries, and it was not easy. As you’d expect. The first half of Police vs UFOs was really easy. However, the second half was not – and I swear the pattern of circles changed from attempt to attempt. And it kept making them appear under my hand! Gah!! Ready Steady Go! can just eff RIGHT off. I saw a video of someone completing it the …

Viewtiful Joe 2

Well, that puzzle was a pain in the backside. After some cogwork in one section of a level, and then the platform game staple giant crushing machines, there was a safe to crack. And it wasn’t easy, since you had to kick it (normally), then punch it (in slow-mo), then use Sylvia’s Replay to hit it three times. And there was no way of telling what you were supposed to do, so it was all down to trial and error. …

GTA: San Andreas

Decided not to bother with the police bikes, as the heist probably isn’t part of the main story. Instead, I did some more missions for Toreno, which I didn’t realise were available to me until I saw the red glow at my airstrip. Had to fly a plane really low, under the radar, to some point and drop some stuff, then fly back. This was made harder by the twitchiest plane controls EVAR and the fact that the “minimum height” …

GTA: San Andreas

My first mission this session was to save Madd Dogg from commiting suicide. This was a little odd, since I’d previously ruined his career and killed him manager. Oh well. Next, I carried on with some bits for the heist Carl and Woosie are planning – including jumping out of a plane over a dam, then planting charges in the dam to blow it up (at a later date, I assume) in order to kill Las Venturas’ power grid. Yes, …
