MAXIMUM TURNIPAGE!!!! I spent over 1,250,000 bells on 95-a-time turnips today. That, well, loads of them. Fahsands. I’ve dumped them all on “hard” ground, filling outside my house, outside Nook’s, outside the museum, and loads of the ground outside the town hall. Aces. I didn’t actually do all that much today, even though I played for over an hour. I started by warping to Imperial City, and entered the Arcane University. After talking to some bloke there, I was promoted to Apprentice, and gained 10 more Gamerpoints (570 now) and another Achievement. I gave this quite a bit of play today. So much so, in fact, that I’ve now finished the whole of the first season of Career Mode, without losing a single match (of which there were about 50), coming top of the Championship, winning the England Cup, and the Community Shield (or Cup or Trophy, or whatever). Still plugging through Career Mode. Played about 5 or 6 matches today, and won them all. The only one that gave me any concern was the 4th Round (I think) “English Cup” tie against Newcastle United. Neither side had scored by 40 minutes in, and they’d been playing much better than me overall. Thankfully, I got two in before half-time, and then went on to win 5-0.
Played anohter six or so matches in Career Mode today. Didn’t have any trouble wiping the floor with such teams as Sheffield Wednesday, Southhampton and Wolverhampton. They were all easy enough to beat. Scores were of the rang 6-0 to 11-0. Easy. I’ve gained a “Prestige” star too, now. When you get one, you can bump up your player stats in a chosen area. New game day! Well, almost every day is New Game Day at the moment, but anyway. Played through the first world, completing it without much difficulty (and with ten lives spare afterwards), and then moved onto the desert world. Got to level 9 I think, and lost my last life there. I played all of the party games then, including a full round of Monkey Mini Golf on which I scored 55. It would have been much lower, but Hole …
47 bells today from that thieving crook. Also, Saharah the camel was visiting, so I did a load of carpet deliveries for her. Got a carpet in return. Went to Nook’s and checked for Blue or Exotic furniture. There was a Blue Box, but I don’t think it was actually in the “proper” Blue range as it didn’t match. Bought it anyway, though.
Two-player Xbox Live fun and japes today, mainly in million-way deathmatch. We are crap in comparison to those we played against, although we never came last, which is always nice. One of the maps we played on seemed to be “player designed”, as it was really small, and rubbish. There was one section you could get in, which was great for sniping, but you couldn’t get out again. Stupid.
Just one game today – online against someone on my friends list. He played as England, I played as Japan. I won 4-0. How embarrasing for him. Of course, he then complained that he didn’t know about the run and shoot buttons and made up other feeble excuses during a post-match IRC discussion. Him == CRAP. FACT.
I started a Cup today. In my group, my first match was me (as England) against the Czech Republic, which ended 1-1. Then followed Austria (0-0). and Nigeria (1-2). Bah. That meant I was kicked out of the competition. I suppose it is an improvement over yesterday, however.
I did much better today – not losing a single match. Walked all over Sir Waddlelot, Girl-With-Fish-on-Head, Cosmos the Alien, Lunk 2 and everyone else I played. Excellent. When I ran out of opponents, [spoiler] appeared, and told me he was to be my final opponent! Woo!
