More retrogaming, a bit of Assassining, HYRULE WARRIORS makes a return and did the new Nintendo Direct make me Want anything? Read on!

Assassin's Creed UnityAssassin’s Creed Unity (PS4)
Arno is dull as ditchwater. He’s a terrible character with no real reason for doing what he’s doing in the game. At least Altaïr and Ezio had revenge or honour or the greater good to fuel their killing sprees, but Arno? Well, his dad was killed when he was little, sure, and then the guy who raised him was also killed, but the latter was an enemy of the Assassins, who he’s now a part of? It’s stupid. Luckily, the game is great apart from that. I’ve killed the King of Beggars this week, which was nice.

Broforce (PS4)
PS+ brought this lovely platform shooter thing this week. I’m not far in, but it’s excellent so far.

Hyrule Warriors Legends Demo (3DS)
Following this week’s Nintendo Direct, two demos where released. One was this – a 3DS port of one of the best Wii U games. The full 3DS game supposedly boasts even more content than the Wii U one which is frankly ridiculous, and it also unlocks characters in the Wii U version if you have both. The demo is excellent too. The graphics aren’t quite there as you’d expect, but the game is the same. I have a New 3DS so I’ve not had the framerate issues others have, and, well, it’s going in the Want list (uh, spoilers), obviously.

Badge Arcade (3DS)
My 3DS play is almost exclusively while I’m on the bus these days, and Badge Arcade needs an internet connection, but I’ve used it at home a few times this week. I still ain’t giving them no money, but a few free goes each day is more than enough anyway. It’s not like I’m actually using the badges you win.

Puzzle & Dragons Z (3DS)
Grinding for Tree Dragon Ash chips. Again. They never seem to drop and I need two of them. Or maybe even three. Grr! And levelling up is soooo sloooooow.

Kirby and the Rainbow Paintbrush (Wii U)
So pretty. And completed!

Disney Infinity 3.0 (PS4)
So awful. And completed!

Retro Stuff
Got my Raspberry Pi 3/RetroPie/FC30 Pro Ultimate Combo working nicely, so played a lot of ToeJam & Earl, and some NES and Master System titles.

Want

HYRULE WARRIORS LEGENDS (3DS)
Best game.

No Man’s Sky (PS4)
It was announced this week that it’s a full price game and the internet melted in anger. I don’t understand. Why should it not be a full price game? Stupid internet. I’ve not pre-ordered as I’m waiting for a cheap PS credit deal, and it’s not out until June anyway so I’ve time.

Firewatch (PS4)
No, I’ve not got it yet. Yes, I still want it. When Unity is done, probably. I don’t like too many games on the go at once and if I buy it now I won’t play it for a few weeks by which time it’ll probably have been on sale.

Lego Marvel Avengers (PS4)
Yes, still this.

Star Fox Zero (Wii U)
I don’t like the other Star Fox games, and this looked average at best when it was shown last year, but in the Nintendo Direct this week it looks incredible. A big improvement, graphically, content-wise and everything.

Paper Mario Colour Splash (Wii U)
Impossibly colourful.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE (Wii U)
I have no idea what’s going on but this looks incredible.

Bin

£7.19 for Super Mario World (SNES) on the 3DS? Even though I’ve already bought it on the Wii and Wii U? And that’s more expensive than the Wii version? £2-3 crossbuy “upgrade” and I’d be on it. Buy it again despite it being on the same account? Nope. You can stick it this time, Nintendo.

Expense

Nothing this week. Oh, except about £7 for an 8bitdo Zero controller. I’ll write something about that in the future, but it’s a lovely little thing.
