Prince of Persia: Warrior Within (GC)

Progressed quite a bit further today, getting past the spikes that had “killed” me previously, going back into the present, running from the Dahaka (I hate those bits) and returning to the past again. There, I started doing some of the clock tower thingy, and then had another big golem to kill. I found that you can dodge him grabbing you when you’re on his back my pressing A or X and left or right, which made killing him a …

Prince of Persia: Warrior Within (GC)

Haven’t played this in a while, and it really showed when I started it up again today. I seemed to have forgotten most of the controls, and kept falling off ledges, taking my sword out instead of running up walls, and generally acting like my controller was back to front. Eventually got it sussed, and got past where I was previously (somewhere in the clock tower). I then had another huge baddie to kill, although he was the same as …

Knights of the Old Republic (Xbox)

Before leaving Kashyyyk, I decided to go back to the Wookiee Village and talk to everyone. Turns out one of the Wookiees was a murderer, and I had the proof. I cleared him of it though, as it seems the Wookiee he murdered was a Bad Person and was selling other Wookiees to slavers. So it was all OK in the end. Had a chat with everyone on my ship then, and kissed Bastila (oh, I didn’t see that coming …

Mawashite Koron (DS)

Supposedly, this is a sequel-of-sorts to Cameltry on the SNES and in the arcade. I’ve never played it, so I don’t know how it compares. It’s sort of like a cross between a 2D Super Monkey Ball and the special stages from Sonic the Hedgehog. You have a ball in a maze, and rotate the maze with the stylus or shoulder buttons. Get the ball to the end, in the time limit, and YOUR WINNER. Completed all of Training, Beginner, …

Lost in Blue

Gasp! I seem to have done loads more on Lost in Blue this afternoon. Not least: Finished my raft. The hardest bit was actually finding enough logs, as they don’t spawn all that often and they’re pretty rare. Needed about 12 in total, and you only get them at a rate of one or two a day, if you’re lucky. The raft took me across the lake, to a place where there was another cave, some hot springs (where you …

Viewtiful Joe 2

Reel 5 – Ice Edge. Look, even the names of the levels are like real actual films. How clever. And, it’s the obligatory platform game ice level. Snowballs and avalanches abound. On one bit of the level, you have to roll a snowball around to make it bigger, and then use it to block an air vent to pass by. There’s a cable car section too, and then, the BEST THING EVAAR – an Ice Climbers bit. It even has …

Sonic Heroes

Had a slightly less irritating time on this today. The levels I worked through had fewer die-for-no-reason moments. That’s not to say it was all good – far from it. Hang Castle had a few areas where you are given no clue as to where to go, and Mystic Mansion had stupid mine cart sections and some rubbish Sonic/Tails/Knuckles specific bit near the end. With them out of the way, and joypad surprisingly intact, it was on to Robot Storm. …

Sonic Heroes

I don’t know why I’m playing this. It’s rubbish. In fact, it is so rubbish, that I could class it as one of the worst games ever made. Ever. There is so much wrong with it I daren’t even start listing them for fear of never stopping. I’d finished a couple of levels as Team Sonic previously, so I carried on from there. Oh joy – a pinball level. Oh joy more – rails to grind. Oh joy the most …

Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon

I made it past the guard who I couldn’t make it past last night (mainly as I was going the wrong way), and had a crate puzzle to deal with. My favourite. This was made harder as you had no way of knowing what you were supposed to do, but I managed it by accident. It turns out you have to push a crate to one position, and stand on it. You can then reach a ledge that you can’t …

Gitaroo Man

In general, I like rhythm games. I liked Samba de Amigo, and Parappa the Rapper. I liked Donkey Konga, and I like Dancing Stage. This, however, is pants. I’ve done the tutorial, and defeated three baddies. Not without some difficulty, though. It is as if the game is trying to be three rhythm games at once, and fails at all three. The backgrounds make it difficult to see your cues for starters. Even when they don’t, they’re difficult to follow …
