Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty! (PS4): COMPLETED!

Back in the day, I did play Abe’s Oddysee quite a bit, but it was so difficult and so frustrating. I don’t think I ever even got out of the factory – I certainly never completed it. With a free PS+ rental, and promises it was now easier to control, easier to play, and had quicksaves, I thought I’d give it another try. And I completed it this time! Sadly, I got the bad ending due to not rescuing enough …

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds (3DS): COMPLETED!

Yeah Hilda. You tell me a gooood story. I’m all ears. And not just because I’m an elf thing. Aha. That’s it then – final dungeon done, final final dungeon done, end boss beaten. What a fantastic game. It’s just so perfect in almost every single way, and somehow manages to improve on the Zelda formula by getting rid of most of the linearity, by upping the pacing, and by making it somehow feel both very different and exactly the same as …

Scott Pilgrim vs The World (360)

I’ve not read the comics. I’ve not seen the film. But, after seeing just a handful of screenshots a few weeks ago for the game, I knew I’d want it. So confident was I, that I didn’t even bother trying the demo – I stumped up my 800 Microsoft Moon Pounds and bought the full game. And I was right – I love it. It’s a great mix of River City Ransom, Guardian Heroes, Streets of Rage, and that Puffy …

Google Buzz: Am I in Shaun Conway?

Google Buzz was unleashed on the world this week. I can’t see the point yet – it’s like a more accessible, but clumsier, Google Wave. Brought to you in the form of a clone Twitter feed. Sort of. The mobile version lets you add your location. Unlike Twitter’s map reference, Buzz displays your position as an address; a street name, shop, or business. Or for me, it thinks I might be inside a man. The thing is, I know Shaun …

Guitar Hero World Tour (360)

After I dropped off my broken Wii at the post office yesterday, I went next door to Blockbuster and accidentally bought Guitar Hero World Tour and Street Fighter IV in a two for £30 deal. And? Well, it’s Guitar Hero. Only with a pants setlist. Also, I know that it’s now a full-band title so some tracks will be better for guitar than others, but tracks like No Sleep Til Brooklyn actually allow the guitar player to sleep through. It’s …

Sensible World of Soccer (360)

Yay! I bought it and it’s ace and just like SWOS ever was and brilliant and everything! But! There are problems. Which is a shame. Firstly, the 360 pad just isn’t right for this game. You need proper 8-way digital control, and the stick can’t provide that, and the d-pad is (as always) in the wrong place. This isn’t a huge issue, but I can’t help feeling I’d be playing better if I had a proper controller. Far more serious …

Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)

A pretty dull day in Cheese today. No-one was really doing anything, nothing special was going on, and there was nothing good to buy from the shops. Kabuki kept asking me about a “mysterious otter”, leading me to believe that Pascal was about somewhere, but he was nowhere to be seen. Stupid animals, getting my hopes up that something might actually happen.

Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)

Even more acorns today. I think I have about 125 of them now. I don’t know how much Mush furniture you can actually get from Cornimer, but I must be in with a pretty good chance of getting the lot, I expect. I have 6 or 7 items of it now already. Kabuki is still trying to move out today. I tried to convince him/her not to, but I don’t really care any more. I haven’t seen Bluebear for a …

Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)

Just a quick visit to Cheese this evening, mainly to collect more acorns (and get some more Mush furniture), but also to see if Sally had moved out. She hadn’t, which is good as I haven’t got her picture yet. Actually, I haven’t had anyone’s picture in quite a while, but then, I haven’t been paying the animals much attention recently. Oh, and Kabuki is trying to move again. Idiot.

Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)

Rubbish bellage offers again today, with Nook suggesting 84 bells per turnip is a good price. My heart shirt arrived, so I gave that to Margie, and made a half-hearted attempt to convince Bunnie to stay in Cheese. Also found four fossils, and sold them. I have all the fossils in the museum now, so they’re only worth collecting for the bells. Crazy Redd was about, but had nothing in stock that I wanted. Didn’t do much else, aside from …

Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)

Today, I spent 1,100,000 bells on turnips, which cost 108 bells each. I have left them on almost every space of “hard” ground in Cheese, aside from where Crazy Redd pitches his tent. Turnipariffic! It was also thunder and lightninging today, so I went fishing. I was hoping to get something good, like a shark or something, but no – instead, I got a pirhana, and loads of fish I already had. Rubbish.

Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)

Didn’t have a particularly successful day in Cheese today. Bunnie is still ill (although i did give her more medicine), I still can’t find a Jester shirt for Frobert, Nan wanted more old-school furniture (of which I had none, so had to order it from Nook), turnips were just 33 bells each, Redd’s paining was a fake, and I found no fossils or anything good. I did, however, manage to give Margie more white furniture (still no picture, though), and …
