Shadow Complex (360): COMPLETED! AGAIN!
I’ve not posted a lot here in a while. It’s mainly because I’ve been glued to Shadow Complex. Having completed 100% a few days ago, I started again on Hardcore mode, and today completed it 100% again. And I’m going to go straight back in and start it on Insane next. Yes, it really is that good. Here’s me at the top of my friends leaderboard: Yes, I am best.
From the dawn of time: ugvm 06
It’s been quite a while since I posted one of these up. Issue 06 was out “violence special”, with Vice City, Bloodrayne (they made a film out of that, dontchaknow), light guns and the massacre of the Vic 20. Good times. God only knows why we stopped making this magazine with promises like that.
Shadow Complex (360)
Going for the big 100%, but have run into a few rooms I can’t reach, and some now can’t be reached unless I restart. There’s a room that seems to need to foam gun to blast open too, but the gun doesn’t do anything so I think it’s bugged. Bah.
Shadow Complex (360): COMPLETED!
What a great game! It’s just like Metroid or Castlevania in structure, only in a near-future setting and in 2.5D. It took me just over 6 hours to complete, and I enjoyed every minute of it. Part of the appeal of these sorts of game comes from starting off weak and useless but building your powers and stats up to become unstoppable – defeating with ease the baddies that previously seemed indestructible. Another thing I like is the OCDness of …
The Outstanding itek Wireless Console: Part 1
I teased it a bit yesterday, but here’s some more information on the best games console since the original Game King – the itek! I paid a STAGGERING ¬¨¬£19.99 for this from local supermarket “Roys”. The price says ¬¨¬£39.99 – but that was how much it cost last year when they started stocking it. I knew if I waited long enough they’d drop it a bit, and I was right! Worth the wait? Of course! Unboxening It’s the law of …
Shadow Complex (360)
Two of my most favourite games serieseses ever: Castlevania and Metroid. Why do I mention them? Because Shadow Complex is just like them! OK, so it’s more modern day, and there are no aliens or vampires (yet, at least), but it’s the same mazey, upgradey, shooty platformy aceness! Hurrah!!

Little King’s Story (Wii): COMPLETED!
FINALLY. After a billion attempts, culmonating in a couple of hours play (necessary, as from final save to boss is almost an hour), I finished it. Overall, it’s an excellent Pikminy game, with just two annoying bits – a hard boss near the start, and a takes-too-long-to-reach and difficult boss at the end.
Civilisation Revolution (iPhone)
I got my first victory! Domination by 1960, using the Germans. Excellent.
Trials HD (360)
It’s Kikstart II! Only new! And shiny! Absolutely loved this tonight. Managed all Golds so far, and I’m one level from finishing Easy Mode. Addicted already.
Civilisation Revolution (iPhone)
OK, who thought this would be a good idea? Taking a game I sank well over 100 hours into on the 360 and releasing it for the iPhone. For £2.99. Idiots. So I bought it. And, although the interface is a little different, and the graphics are nearer the DS than the 360, it’s the same horribly, horribly addictive game. Only now you can’t escape it as it’s in your pocket. Gah.
