I know it’s wrong to mock those who don’t understand, but I couldn’t help laughing at this conversation on a Mac newsgroup today: > > Does anyone here run a blog and what do you use?>> WordPress. Isn’t this for Windows? Amazing!
Chapter 5-1 is the longest chapter evaar. FACT. I’ve wandered round the outside of the island, gained entry to a research lab, killed loads of baddies that can re-grow body parts, found Ashley (again) but can’t reach her yet, and have almost run out of ammo far too many times. I’ve taken almost two hours on this chapter alone (more than twice as long as any previous chapter), and it still isn’t over yet.
OK, so I’ve completed Chapter 4-4 (that’s all of 4 done now), and I’m out of the castle. There was a huge Salazar statue that (as suspected) “came to life” and chased me, then there was a climb up a huge tower, complete with Donkey Kong homage, and finally a fight with Salazar and his “other” hand man, who combined with a big slimey thing. Well, I say a fight, but in reality it was easy. I stood still, went …
Two more chapters down, don’t know how many to go because they’re not consistent when it comes to the numbering… Anyway, I seem to have ended up in some mines. With (dahn dahn daaaaahni!) a mine cart “level”! I’m also horribly short of ammo (although health is doing fine), and was so short on space I’ve sold my TMP and shotgun, but bought a Striker (which is better than a shotgun, but smaller). I seem to have a million grenades. …
There’s a sale on at XBLA at the moment (although it’s only two days long), with Gauntlet reduced to just 200 points. Rude not to, eh? It’s a lot harder than I recall. So hard, in fact, that in single player I think Level 8 is impossible, with Questor at least. You can continue as many times as you like, but you’re returned to the start of the level rather than just carry on. I know this is probably how …
It would appear that my sister Rhi‚àö¬¢n was on Radio 1 yesterday morning, on Fearne and Reggie’s show (minus Fearne, it seems) talking about a stupid competition she once took part in. Of course, it’s nothing on my appearance on television, but it’s a start, yes? Here’s the 50 second snippet: My sister on the Radio.
Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Fun Fact #1: Completing “Y” Mode on Hard is impossible. In fact, just defeating the first character is impossible.Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Fun Fact #2: Getting the “destroy a 25-gem block in Arcade Mode” achievement is also impossible, as if you play it on Easy or Normal, the CPU character dies before you get there, and if you play on Hard or Expert, you die before you get there.
Ah! I have keeeeled heeeem. Mainly by luck rather than skill, as he had his back to me at the beginning and so I could blast the plagas thing on it quickly to see him off. I then had to deal with some monks around the outside of the cage, but they were easy. Eventually, I found Ashley again, protected her from some more monks, and then had to play a whole chapter as her. The Ashley Chapter was pretty …
Another chapter down! I’ve made my way through a sewer with giant insects in it, loads of monk things and killed a goat-headed monk in red, found a treasure chest that rose from the ground having hit a switch, and then moved on to outside the castle again, and into and through a maze. Then, I entered a bedroom, had a bit of a scuffle with Ada, and completed the chapter. I’ve now solved a puzzle where I had to …
Managed two chapters today. To start with, I had to choose a path – either a giant to kill or a group of something else. I took the giant route. Eventually, I found a barn with the evil bloke who’d almost killed me previously in, and killed him (and the thing he turned into!), and then found a castle with Ashley. It took many attempts to get through the castle courtyard, as I kept being firebombed or Ashley go kidnapped …
Played through X’ Arcade Mode with Akuma, and completed it. I’m not classing the game as complete just yet though, as I have X, Y and Z modes to go yet! Sadly, I missed out on an achievement for finishing Arcade Mode without using a credit, as I underestimated the end of game boss – also Akuma – and he beat me.
Here’s another one, this time from 2002: Hello andy i think that your site is amazing, i love you pro wife simulator, however it is only amzing for animals such as slugs (it could be amazing for a snail but it is not likly due to there higher standards). You SUCK Wow! I bet I was well upset when that appeared in my inbox.
Hmm. Things are not going so well now. I lost two continues trying to kill the boss that looks like Blanka from Street Fighter II, and so have made it to Level 5 with just two lives (and no more continues, it seems) left. I then had a go on Versus Mode on Xbox Live. Sadly, it is totally broken. If you host, you win. The reason? If you’re not hosting, all of your movements are delayed by almost a …
Played quite a few games with my wife, winning about as many as I lost. Also had a try at some of the other game modes. “Y” is more like Columns, in that you have to get lines of three or more rather then groups of gems which you then trigger. It was OK, but not as good as X or X’ modes. “Z” is similar to Hexic, sort of, in that you rotate blocks of four to make groups, …
After yesterday’s moan about idiot drivers who can’t grasp the concept of average-speed cameras, imagine my surprise on my way to work this morning when I noticed something odd. They’ve all gone. Overnight, someone has come along and removed all of the speed cameras from that stretch of road. Why? Who knows!
