Today was New WiiWare Download Game Day on the Wii’s Shopping Channel, and I bought this and Strong Bad Episode 3. Just in case I run out of Fallout 3 to play, or something. I gave Cubello a bit of a go, and it seems quite nice. I think I need to fiddle with the brightness settings or something though, as the black and grey blocks are both black, and the white and light blue blocks look the same.
Been a while since I last played this, but the Street Fighter II table for it was released recently and, in an attempt to break free from the evil clutches of Fallout 3, I gave it a go. It’s a pretty good table, actually. Better than most of the others in Pinball FX, anyway. Two more days play, another, erm, 12 hours clocked on the game. Completing it seems a distant memory now, as more important tasks in-game have replaced the fate of the DC Wasteland. Bought, downloaded, played, and completed all in the space of 30 minutes. That’s not to say it’s rubbish, as it isn’t. It has issues (mainly in that some areas of some of the “tables” are too difficult to reach, and the swooping camera is sometimes too slow to keep up with the ball), and is short, but it’s fun. Two days of play in one handy diary entry. Hurrah! I was heading for Rivet City, at first through the Metro, then overland along the river. Found a house where a drunk called Dukov lived with his two lady friends, and considered killing him, but decided against it. WHAT This is the most disjointed, bizarre, and nonsensical game I’ve played since 2DO on the Saturn. There’s running, platforming, puzzling, first person flying, side-on fighting, QTEs galore and tag team action. It’s very, very odd. And wrongness.
Well, the demo of the new Scene It gives a horrifying glimpse into the world of Xbox Avatars. It also seems to cover a better range of films than the previous game, although some of the quiz rounds (the crossword one in particular) are totally baffling.

Today I managed to make it to the Galaxy News radio tower, where I had to see off a giant super mutant outside it, before being given a quest by Three Dog to go to a museum. I’ve been waiting for this for what seems like forever. Forever since Oblivion, anyway. It’s like every other game between Oblivion and Fallout 3 has existed solely to pass the time. A few more levels today, after getting a load of pinarctic pinata into my garden and master romancing Bunnycombs, Pengums and Flapyaks. No sign of any Jelis yet though, and getting Walrusks in is going to be a pain as I just don’t have space for all the snow and water they need.
Several new pinatas in my garden today – Fizzlybears, Mallowolves and Polollybears all made resident and sent to parties, knocking my level up to about 132. I also master romanced Hoghurts and Peckanmixes, as well as Goobaas, which helped raise my level. Got two achievements today too – one for getting a Polollybear, and the other for completing all of the Region 2 party challenges.
