The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (360)

Attempt number two at killing the marauders ended somewhat better than the first time, not least because the one that kept shooting fireballs at me kept hitting the floor with them instead of me (I was hiding down some steps), and so I kept shooting arrows at him. After that, and after raiding the bodies, I left the fort and headed back to Imperial City. Found loads of mushrooms on the way, so picked them. It was the middle of …

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (360)

Finally! I have an actual real 360 game that isn’t a demo or an Xbox Live Arcade download! And it is actually pretty impressive too. Perhaps the last game like this that I’ve played was probably some Amiga title which I’ve forgotten the name of. I was always tempted by Morrowind, which is the game before Oblivion in the Elder Scrolls series, but the PC version would run like poo on my PC (at the time) and the ten minute …

FIFA Soccer 06 (DS)

Yes, I’m playing FIFA again. I think I may be ill, or something. I don’t generally like football games at the best of times (except for PES4 recently, and Sensible Soccer forever), not least FIFA titles as they’re all crap, but for some reason I’m enjoying this. Maybe it’s because it’s a handheld game. I don’t know. PES6 for the DS would be nice though. Anyway. I’ve started Career Mode, which if I finish it, I will class the game …

Prince of Persia: Warrior Within (GC)

Haven’t played this in a while, and it really showed when I started it up again today. I seemed to have forgotten most of the controls, and kept falling off ledges, taking my sword out instead of running up walls, and generally acting like my controller was back to front. Eventually got it sussed, and got past where I was previously (somewhere in the clock tower). I then had another huge baddie to kill, although he was the same as …

Fire Emblem (GBA)

Gah. After a pile of really easy missions, I stuffed up Chapter 13 (naturally) five times before getting it right. It wasn’t so much that it was difficult, it’s just that I had to get Matthew to talk to Guy (one of the baddies) to “turn” him. This wasn’t as simple as it sounds, as getting them to meet without one of them dying, or one of the other characters (who I hadn’t been paying so much attention to as …

Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)

Where the hell is Joan? I have almost 300,000 bells burning a hole in both pockets, some bags and my house and she’s nowhere to be seen. Gah. Sold some more fruit that had grown overnight, and dug up three fossils. Bashed the Rock o’ Money too, and talked with the animals (and walked with the animals) for a bit. Found out Caroline the Squirrel won the “Bright Nights” house competition. Tortimer told me to tell her the news, but …

Lost in Blue

Caved in and started playing this, even though I still have other games on-the-go. It is basically a DS “re-imagining” of the GBC game Stranded Kids. And it is pretty good, if not more than a little frustrating. On my first go, I died before getting anywhere. I have now managed to make it through to day 9 on the island, finding the girl Skye, building a fire every day, making assorted “recipes” which offer little or no nutritional value, …

Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan: OUENDONE – YET AGAIN

In my last Ouendan-related post, I suggested that completing “Normal” mode was the limit of my 1337 gaming skillz. It seems that is not the case, as I managed to complete Hard Mode this evening. That’s right – I cleared all of the songs. Even Ready Steady Go! (the last one), that I took over a hundred attempts to beat on Normal. I’ve been listening to the soundtrack a lot recently, so I know the songs off by heart, and …

Spider-Man 2

More swinging. There’s a lot of it in this game, it seems. Ran up some more buildings, delivered a pizza, beat up more people who had stolen things, went into an art gallery and beat some people there up, chased a woman across the rooftops, rode a train for a bit, chased a balloon, was ambushed a couple of times, and generally did Spider-Man Type Stuff. I’m on Chapter 4 now, it seems.

Advance Wars: Dual Strike

Bah. I was doing really well, had shot all the missiles at the satellite, and had destroyed the huge cannon thing. I had even managed to make inroads towards the Black Hole base, and was generally winning. I had a small army of Blue Moon Neotanks and artillery en-route to do some damage, and a Blue Moon Battleship was providing backup and cover. And then, I got sloppy and let one Black Hole soldier through to the Blue Moon base …

Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

Before going back into Dungeon 6, I had a wander round outside, and found some more pieces of heart. Then it was back inside… It was a shame that I’d only had one heart left at the end of Misery Mire last go, since the end boss was actually very easy. He threw eyeballs at me, which I had to kill, and then a giant eyeball bounced around the screen. It took loads of hits, but wasn’t difficult. Then it …

Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap

Made my way up the mountain again, realising I’d missed some obvious blow-open-walls bits (and hence why I was stuck). At the top, I found a Minish Mine, where a blacksmith took the broken Picori Blade and send me off to get the Fire Element from another nearby mine. Naturally, this was another dungeon. The mid-boss was a load of grey spiky wobbly things, and the weapon in this dungeon was the Cane of Pacci. How unfortunate. It flips things …

Sega Superstars

Waving my arms around in front of the TV is not something I generally do. Shout and swear at it, yes, but not pretend I’m actually part of a game by doing so. EXCEPT WAIT! I am part of the game! With the Eyetoy, you too can actually be in Virtua Fighter, Puyo Puyo, Super Monkey Ball and other Sega games. Almost. Well, it was fun for a bit anyway. My arms hurt too. Some games work better than others: …
