The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles (360)

First thing today was to head to Xedilian, essentially a giant trap, to activate it. On the way though, was Knotty Brambles – where there was supposed to be a cure for the illness the innkeeper in Crucible has. So I nipped in there first, got the cure, and went back to Sickly Bernice. Then, it was back to the quest at hand, and a tour round Xedilian, killing goblin things (which aren’t goblins) and activating the three crystals, and …

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (360)

After a bit of a hunt, I found the other spy (there was a load of caverns under the other spy’s house, but I had to wait for a specific time of day for him to appear) and killed him until he be dead. After that, I went back to see Sean Bean and he sent me of on another quest – to find a daedric artifact. Before starting off on that, however, I went back to my house in …

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (360)

Had myself a merry old thieving time today, with some very bizarre events. Opened up the next Thieves’ Guild quest, which was to steal a ring from the Countess of Leyawiin. After chatting with some beggars and her handmaiden, it seemed there was a secret entrance into Her Lady’s private quarters from the basement of Castle Leyawiin. I was also told she goes to bed at 11pm. So I found the secret passage, and came upon the final door before …

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (360)

Since I was in Bravil (I wish I could stop reading that as Breville – I keep thinking about sandwich toasters) anyway, I thought I might as well explore. And sell everything in the Mage’s Guild shop back to the shopkeeper, as it let me take them and do so. That made me a tidy sum! I’ve opened up several new quests too – I have to find a Mage Staff, owned by the woman in the guild shop and …

Fire Emblem (GBA)

Finally! I made it back to Fire Emblem for long enough to progress the story a little! I’ve now played, and completed, the surprisingly simple Chapter 19. Strangely, at the beginning of the fight, one of my characters says “This looks like the final battle!”, when of course, it isn’t. And there I was thinking I was about to complete another game. In the course of the battle, Lucius the Monk powered up to become Lucius the Bishop. Which basically …

Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)

Saturday night in Animal Crossing is K.K. Slider night. Every Saturday between 8 and 10pm, he appears in the Café in the basement of the museum and will play you a song. You can request one, or just get him to play a random one. When he’s finished, he’ll give you a “bootleg” tape to play back in your “pad”. Today, I got a copy of “K.K. Aria”. Since tomorrow is Turnip Day, I also went round and sold the …

Knights of the Old Republic (Xbox)

On Dantooine, there is a Jedi Order, and after speaking with them they told me “the Force is strong” in me, or something. So I was to become a Jedi Padawan. Whatever that is supposed to be. First, there were three tests. One was knowing the Jedi equivalent of the Scout’s “I’ll do my best” thingie, another was to build my own lightsaber. I chose to become a “Jedi Consular”, as that seemed most rounded of the three choices, and …

Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages

First off, I created a new game by linking Seasons to Ages. Although I’d hoped that this would give me teh magic powaz from Seasons at the start of my quest, it didn’t. Rubbish. It did, however, continue the story. Twinrova, some baddies I met in Seasons, appeared and said some stuff about Onox not dying in vain, and some flames being lit so that the Great King can be summoned. Or something. And then it was off into the …

Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons

Dungeon 6 appeared to be huge once I’d found the map, but luckily it wasn’t – there were six or so floors, but each one was smaller than the last, so it wasn’t oo big in the end. It was a bit complicated though. The weapon gained here was a Magic Boomerang – an upgrade for my normal one, but this one has greater range, power, and can be aimed with Sensible Soccer-like aftertouch. The mid-boss here was easy, and …

Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons

Had a good couple of hours on this today. It’s certainly a bigger game that it appeared to be to begin with! Finished off Dungeon 5, which, despite being called Unicorn’s Cave doesn’t have any unicorns in it. The item found there was the “magnetic gloves”, which I’ve not seen in a Zelda game before. Basically, you become alternately attracted to and repelled from other magnety things. Nice. The mid-boss was a pushover, and the end boss (using the gloves) …

Fable

After some suggestions on uk.games.video.misc, I decided to make a start on Fable. And what a strange game it is. The first thing to hit me was the accents – every English dialect appears to be covered. The next thing was the bizarre shadows on people’s faces, as if there are invisible light sources than keep moving. Very odd, and a little off-putting, especially when coupled with the Daz-enchanced Whiter Than Whiteness of my clothes. But I digress. Went round …
