Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon

After a hard think about which game I wanted to play-to-complete next, I settled on this. Don’t know how far in I am – not very I expect. Have done George’s first bit, then all of Nico’s bit, then back to George again. It’s pretty good so far, although some of the puzzles have been a little obvious (although this is noted by the game – George says “Oh, the old block-on-a-pressure pad trick, eh?” at one point). I was …

Outrun 2

I thought I’d beat a few more of Tim’s scores today, so did so. Specifically, Route 1. I then went and tried some of the Challenges, but failed on them all. They’re too hard. FACT. Then something bizarre happened. I decided to try and beat Tim’s Route 4 score, so chose his ghost to race. All was well (aside from me being behind) until the first split in the road – I could only go left, as I expected, but …

GTA: San Andreas

My first mission this session was to save Madd Dogg from commiting suicide. This was a little odd, since I’d previously ruined his career and killed him manager. Oh well. Next, I carried on with some bits for the heist Carl and Woosie are planning – including jumping out of a plane over a dam, then planting charges in the dam to blow it up (at a later date, I assume) in order to kill Las Venturas’ power grid. Yes, …

Fable

Bit of a marathon session on this today, it seems. Started off this evening by visiting Lady Grey in Bowerstone. She wanted a black rose from me, and now wants me to buy a house. Sod that! Started a quest looking for the Archeologist again, who was held prisoner by some wierdy things with two headed staffs and blade-sticks. Some idiot guards joined me to help out, although most died. After saving him, he told me where to find my …

Fable

After some suggestions on uk.games.video.misc, I decided to make a start on Fable. And what a strange game it is. The first thing to hit me was the accents – every English dialect appears to be covered. The next thing was the bizarre shadows on people’s faces, as if there are invisible light sources than keep moving. Very odd, and a little off-putting, especially when coupled with the Daz-enchanced Whiter Than Whiteness of my clothes. But I digress. Went round …

Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude

Managed to win over Harriet first, who is very scary indeed. Not least that she’s possessed by some kind of demon. Nor that she only wants me if I dress up as a tree. Anyway, I figured out an easy way to win the hand-slappy game, and so got the Token of Affection from her a little later. Next, it was on to Beatrice, the professor in the lab. This was even more wrong, as it involved swapping my brain …

Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude

My time today was split between Analisa (guess Larry’s hilarious pronunciation of that, if you can) and Bilzarbra (what kind of a name is that?). I managed to “win” them both over, which in Bilzarbra’s case involved a sentient arcade machine. I also stumbled across the Porn Fairy, who looks alarmingly like Ron Jeremy. He burst into song, singing about being the Porn Fairy to the tune of the Gilbert and Sullivan “Pirate King” song. Which was nice.

Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude

I’d played an hour or two of this filthy, shallow, repetitive, addictive Xbox game before Christmas, and decided to make it my next game (after Paper Mario 2) to play. It’s, er, a little different to Paper Mario 2 as well. Chatted up Ione for a bit, and found the cognac she was after (a drunk hip-hop tramp had it, of course), and played quarters with her. As you do. Beat her, but she wasn’t up for much “more”, so …

Paper Mario 2

Whew! A bit of a marathon session on this today. I really want to complete it soon; not because it isn’t any good, far from it, but because I have stacks of other games to play and I’m trying not to have too many “on the go” at once. I got the “turn into a boat” ability, as suspected, and then went off and defeated Cortez at the end of the Pirate’s cave. He was actually pretty hard, with his …

Paper Mario 2

Went back to this for a couple more hours. I’ve done a few errands on the island, and gone up about three levels now. I’m mostly putting badge points up when I level-up, as these seem to be the most important things at the moment, not least that there are a few ice-based attacked they give you – useful against the fire-based baddies on the island! I also have another member in my party too, who has a couple of …

Run Baby Run: Cold as Ice

I’ve been honing my skills a little on my new Run Baby Run levels. I’m not sure I’ve managed to create levels as good as the original (although, I’ve only had a week to play with the new ones, and twenty years to master the old ones!), but they’re all certainly playable. I’m alarmed at how similar Green Acres is to Bolton Gas Works, even though it wasn’t intentional. I think it may just play like it, rather than look …

Mario 64DS

Still sticking with it, despite the problems I’m having with the controls. Have I mentioned the problems with the controls? They’re awful. Rescued Mario, which has improved things a little. Yoshi just doesn’t feel “right” for the game. I’ve now got 16 Stars, and so went and had a crack at the first Bowser boss. Not that I could even reach him, as the terrible controls make the tricky platform section before him bloody hard. Grr!

Anarchy Online

Got myself a bit more money, and then decided to see if I couldn’t upgrade some weapons and stuff. And couldn’t, as they’re all far too expensive. So I decided to try the Trade Skill functions, and make myself a weapon instead. This involved more than I thought – I needed a recipe, a construction kit, and four items. I managed to combine the first two items, but then found my Computer Literacy wasn’t of a high enough level for …

Pikmin 2

So I found the blue Onion today, and merrily spent an hour racking up my Blue Army. Then proceeded to wander through one of the levels and kill no end of huge baddies, including one of those bird-head things. I have all the Pikmin colours now, but it does annoy me a little that you can’t grow more white or purple ones, but instead have to find flowers and convert five or so other colours at a time.
