Donkey Kong (3DS): COMPLETED!

This was a much longer game than I remember it being, but somehow it seemed much easier. I have memories of having 70-odd lives reaching the final boss, then losing 67 of them on him. That seems like a lot of lives, but they’re very easy to come by (you normally get 2 or 3 each level, then after every four levels when the time score is counted up, you usually get another 5 or 6) and I did die …

Kirby’s Epic Yarn (Wii): COMPLETED!

The is the game I’ve been playing most since completing InFamous, and today I completed it. It wasn’t especially short, but it was very easy. I don’t think it’s even possible to die – I certainly didn’t, and even falling off the bottom of the screen or losing all your beads doesn’t kill you, so I doubt you can. That doesn’t mean it was bad though. I loved it! The art style is amazing, the levels bright and varied with …

The Best of Comment Spam #2

Lets have a little look at what spam Akismet has caught for me recently, yes? Hey guys, Do you want to watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 full movie online? Thanks so much with regard to giving us an update on this …

The Spending So Far

Last year, as well as tracking all the games I’d played, I also tracked all the games I’d bought. At the end of the year, I’d spent £590.32. Not bad. I’m tracking expenditure this year too, and, since we’re almost half way through the year, I thought I’d have a quick peek to see how I’m doing. £612.05. In half a year. Oops!

Happy Birthday, Sonic the Hedgehog

Happy 20th birthday, Sonic! Not that you can hear me, being a) fictional, and b) dead. Dead to me at least, with Sega’s stream of memory-raping crapbaskets they call Sonic games. I’ve done all that before. Moaned about Sonic games. At length. To anyone who will listen, read or otherwise take an interest (or not). It hasn’t done any good: Sega still keeps making them. Today, to mark his birthday, Sega have released a demo of Sonic Generations for the …

InFamous (PS3): COMPLETED!

This was one of the two games I got free from Sony by way of apologising for letting evil internet terrorists have access to my personal details. Sadly, it’s not that great. For the first three or four hours, I just couldn’t shake the fact that this was just Crackdown in slightly ill-fitting clothes. Then, as I realised that going vertical and running across rooftops was a better way of playing, I found myself comparing it to Assassin’s Creed as …

Sonic Colours (Wii): COMPLETED!

Look. I wasn’t going to buy this at all. I hate recent Sonic games. I don’t want to play them. Somehow, however, I end up doing so anyway. And here I am having completed another one. Firstly, I was pleasantly surprised because I didn’t instantly hate it. I didn’t love it either, mind, but it wasn’t completely offensive to my senses. In fact, some bits were quite good. There were some great proper platforming sections, some nice 2D superfast Sonic …

The Nintendo Wii U

There’s no point denying it this time round. Fact is, I pre-ordered a Gamecube. I pre-ordered a Wii. I love both those machines, and I’ll love this. Even if only three decent Nintendo games ever come out for it and then it dies a horrible death. I don’t care – I want one. In fact, I’ve pre-ordered one already. Tch, eh?

The Rapture: A post about the PS3

I have, in the past, been quite vocal about my dislike for Sony products. Specifically, the Playstation, Playstation 2, and the PSP. All of which I own, all of which I hate. In fact, I have no idea why I even bought a PSP. I didn’t want one, and just had £125 in my pocket one day when I saw a white one for sale for £125. Fool and his money, etc. My main gripe with all of these, but …

Games I’ve Played In The Last Week Or Two

Haven’t had an update post in a while, and I’ve been trying out lots of different games over the last couple of weeks and not made mention of them here, so here’s a roundup: Say What You See (iOS) A series of pictures with hidden clues to game titles, films, etc. Like a cross between Where’s Wally? and a cryptic crossword. There are number of “canvases”, and I’ve been playing the Arcade Games one. Completed it, but some of them …
