Mobile version of my blog now fixed!
Apparently, it was broken. But now I’ve fixed it! Thanks @jaytay 🙂

Today, the new search engine come encyclopaedia come scientific calculator Wolfram Alpha became available to the public. Sadly, virtually everything I’ve asked it so far has come up with “Wolfram Alpha isn’t sure what to do with your input”. In one case, though, it managed a nice diagram: The question I asked was “Who is the richest?”. I don’t know what to make of the answer. You can try it for yourself here.
Downloaded all the downloadable weekly puzzles since whenever it was I last played it, and then set about completing them all. There was one that was a real pain, as I was convinced I had the answer right but it wasn’t. Then I realised it was a trick question!
I got another one of those read-it-or-fall-for-it domain name expiry scam at work emails today. Like the last one, it relies on you panicking when you read it and think your company’s domain name is due to expire – today – and you hurriedly send off your pennies to this company in order to keep your site running. Of course, that isn’t what’s happening. This company are actually selling you a search engine submission subscription. Something which is pretty useless …
Haven’t seen it on the TV yet. Also, I think I may actually prefer the components over the final product, but anyway.
Just about the only game series in Japan to come close to the popularity of Pokemon is Monster Hunter. And a new installment is heading for the PSP. Look! Video! The blurb: Are you ready to be part of the social gaming phenomenon that‚Äö?Ñ?¥s gripping Japan? The Monster Hunter world is always changing and you will need to be ready for anything – but killing and trapping monsters will always be most important part of your duty. Monster Hunter Freedom …
A friend of mine bought my daughter some soft play blocks recently. You know the sort of thing – with numbers and pictures and the alphabet on them. Only one block had a couple of mistakes on them: In fact, two of the other sides had “Water-melon” and “X’mas tree” on them, both of which I’d say were also incorrect.
I actually bought this when it came out a couple of weeks ago, but haven’t mentioned it here for some reason. So far, I’ve got most of the jiggies in the first world, and two in the second. And opened the third. Not really enjoying it as much as the original. There’s too much back-tracking and jumping in and out of worlds. I know there was a bit of this in the first one, but, like the collecting, it’s taken …
No sooner had I said “I never win anything”, I then go and win something! Again! This time I won a copy of the Xbox 360 game “Rise of the Argonauts”, as well as a matching Xbox 360 faceplate! Amazing! I have no idea what the game is like, however, and my previous prize of “three Xbox versions of board games” was not exactly something to get excited about.
‘A’ Licence GET! I hadn’t realised that by not doing any of the races, Marked Man events, or Road Rage events (well, not many) for most of the game, it had left them all pretty easy to complete. So I finished off the 25 wins with mostly races and Road Rages, getting me my A licence. I found a cheat, of sorts, for Marked Man too. Just drive very slowly. You can’t get hit hard enough to crash, so it’s …
I know I was saying how hard this was, but in fact, it got easier as it went along. This was mainly due to being able to buy new moves and upgraded weapons; the double-jump and flying jump combined made some bits of the later levels very, very easy. I’m also convinced the end of game boss was easier than the second boss too. Once I’d figured out his pattern, anyway. After completing the game, you get another marker on …
I had a bit of a tantrum yesterday, because the simple task of putting up a blind seemed beyond me. Of course, it wasn’t entirely my fault as several things conspired against me, including a wall with a metal plate behind it.¬¨‚Ć However, the B&Q instructions didn’t exactly help. Just look at the quality of this amazing diagram: (click it for a bigger, but not exactly more visible version) Ignoring the fact the screws provided needed 5mm holes, not 6mm, …
Played this against my wife for the last three nights. Score so far: 2-1 to me!
It seems I did get quite a few new games this week – Burnout Paradise, Adventure Island, Bit Trip Beat, Strong Bad Episode 5, Trivial Pursuit… On Friday I made a start on Burnout Paradise. Very quickly, I’d managed to get my C licence, and then I played online for a couple of hours. Most of my game time since then has been spent just cruising the streets, looking for smashes, jumps and billboards; of which I have found at …
